Fair use rationale for Image:Todo A Su Tiempo.jpg

edit

Image:Todo A Su Tiempo.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Note

edit

Just a couple of notes that I wrote down while reading the Lead section (hope this can help before someone points it out during the GA review).

  • Shouldn't the English translation of the album's name be in Template:Lang-en format?
  • Why does it say "American singer"? He was born in New York, however, shouldn't it say "Puerto Rican American singer"? Since his heritage is from Puerto Rico.
  • BTW, "Otra Nota" I believe should have the album's release year in (parenthesis) - like so.
  • "It has sold over 800,000 copies." maybe something like this "The album has sold over 800,000 copies [since its release or worldwide?]"

These are just some tips. Take care bud, and best of luck. AJona1992 (talk) 17:04, 8 July 2011 (UTC)Reply

I appreciate your time on taking a note on the article but some there are some things I need to point out:

  • Not necessarily, it's not required.
  • No, that goes against MOS:BIO. You can take a look at the history page for Prince Royce or this to see where I'm coming from.
  • That's not required either.
  • That I'll give you. I'll change it since it is vague, to the former since I can find no source that states whether it's worldwide or since its' release.

But again, I do appreciate taking your time to state your viewpoint. On a non-related note, Anthony dedicated the album to the memory of Selena (and some other musician I never heard) in the liner notes. DJ Magician Man (talk) 17:24, 8 July 2011 (UTC)Reply

I'm glad I can help out. Just was giving out some minor tips. And yea, I never knew that, its pretty cool that he did that. Hope it passes. AJona1992 (talk) 17:35, 8 July 2011 (UTC)Reply

Infobox
  • No source in article to support when and where the album was recorded
  • No information in article to support genre(s) of album

Both these are listed in the album liner notes.

Lead
  • ...all of which topped the Billboard Tropical Songs. – Add "charts" at end of sentence

  Done

Background
  • The album was a success, as it peaked at number two on the Billboard Tropical Albums. – Not necessary to this article

  Done Removed

  • Quote needs the CD liners notes source to validate it

  Done Added source

Composition and covers
  • The ballad "Y Sigues Siendo Tu" ("And You Still Being You") was composed by Puerto Rican composers Eduardo Reyes, Laura Reyes, and Guadalupe Garcia. – Needs source

  Done added source

  • "Vieja Mesa" ("Old Table") was composed by Dominican musician Víctor Víctor. – Needs source

  Done Added source

  • This section seems to have repetitive sentence structure. It seems like "This song was composed/performed by" starts almost every sentence. Make each connecting sentence start differently.
Commercial release
  • Section should be renamed "Commercial reception" since it involves chart positions, certifications, etc.

  Done Renamed

  • ...was distributed by Sony Music until 1996, when it was distributed by Universal Music Group. – It says in the infobox that the label is RMM Records

That's for the recording label, not the major label distributing albums for said label.

  • ...to receive a gold certification by the RIAA... – Wiki-link "RIAA"

  Done

  • The album has sold over 800,000 copies. – Specify when this count of copies was sold (Ex: As of this date...)

  Done

  • It peaked at number seven at the Billboard Latin Song chart... – Change "at" to "on"

  Done

  • ...on the Billboard Latin Songs chart and spent two weeks number one on the Billboard Tropical Songs... – Fix sentence structure

Any suggestions?

  • Specify release dates for all singles in "Singles" subsection

No release dates are available for these songs, only when it debuted on the Billboard charts.

Critical reception
  • Todo a Su Tiempo received praise from music critics. – Instead of "received praise", use "positive reviews"

  Done

  • Billboard's mentioned Anthony... – Specify what reviewer of Billboard made this review

No mention of who specifically did the review for the album in the source

  • Reference 35 does not appear to be a reliable source and needs to be deleted

The Chicago Tribune is a reliable source and is listed under WP:ALBUM/REVSIT

  • A writer for the Village Voice penned that the tracks were "nine swirling, complex dance tunes".[16] – This source refers to Village Voice but links to a book

It's in the book.

  • At the Grammy Awards of 1996... – Change to "At the 38th Grammy Awards

  Done

  • In 1997 the album received... – Add comma after "1997"

  Done

  • George left RMM Records in 1996 to form his own record studio and did not work with Anthony again until the release of Valió la Pena in 2004. – Does not pertain to critical reception

Should this be mentioned in the article anywhere?

Track listing
  • Needs a source to validate all points of information

Track listings do not need a source. Look up any GA or FA class album articles. Only those that come in different editions need a source. See my other GA article, Contra La Corriente (Marc Anthony album).

Credits and personnel
  • No issues
Chart performance
  • Chart precession and succession box should be below "Certification" box

  Done

See also
  • No issues
References
  • References 1, 35, 39 – Not certain if it is a reliable source

I've asked an editor for an object thought on it so let's see.

  • Reference 2 – "Billboard" should be wiki-linked because of its first appearance in the section

  Done

  • References 5, 6, 7, 9, 23 – Publishers should be Rovi Corporation and first appearance of it should be wiki-linked

  Done

  • References 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 17, 20, 22, 24, 26, 28, 43 – "Prometheus Global Media" should not be wiki-linked according to WP:OVERLINK because it appears in Reference 2

  • Reference 33 – Publisher needed

It appears to be a self-publisher work.

  • Reference 38 – Univision should not be italicized because it is not a print work

  Done

  • References 44, 45, 46, 47, 48 – Publisher should be Amazon.com and should be wiki-linked on first occurrence; foreign languages need "language=" parameter

  Done

  • Reference 49 – Publisher is 7digital and needs to be wiki-linked

After thoroughly reviewing this article, I have decided to put this article on hold. There are many issues keeping this article from good article status, but the main issues are the prose quality and citation of sources where needed. I will give you the general seven days to fix these mistakes and/or discuss items you believe do not affect good article status until a consensus is reached. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask. Rp0211 (talk2me) 04:04, 7 August 2011 (UTC)Reply
