EMDR section is far too large

edit

Each section should summarize an individual treatment and similar treatments should be given equal weight. The only thing that I'm seeing that might be added specific to EMD is content addressing the controversies around it. --Ronz (talk) 18:45, 4 March 2019 (UTC)Reply

A combined Alternative and non-traditional treatment section seems inappropriate

edit

Grouping those treatments together, and having a paragraph introducing alternative medicine, seems inappropriate. I suggest finding a MEDRS source that categorizes all treatments, and use it for the breakdown. The alt-med paragraph might be necessary to keep, but should only be used to introduce alt-med topics. --Ronz (talk) 18:51, 4 March 2019 (UTC)Reply

Follow their lead: The importance of the article was to show Treatments that can be used for PTSD. Including different therapies and techniques. Most information was reflected throughout the article. The article seemed mostly neutral and balanced. A clear structure: All sections were organized into their own subsections and categories. A Balancing act: All sections fulfilled their need to educate and explain their subject or category in accordance with educating the reader of the types of treatments. All perspectives were represented. No conclusion or convincing was need. Neutral Content: The perspective was educational and scientific. No phrases or worse that felt not neutral. No claims were made. More focused on positive information regarding educating the reader on treatment methods. Reliable sources: Most statements in the article connected to reliable sources like journal articles or textbooks. Many different sources were used in the writing of this article. No unsourced statements were found. There could be a little more precision in the article referencing. (Unsigned comment by an unknown editor posted on an unknown date.)

Autonomic ganglion blocks and PTSD section removed

edit

I removed the section titled "Autonomic Ganglion Blocks and PTSD" because it was poorly written, incomplete, promotional, and misleading. However, these treatments should be covered in the article, but such a section must comply with standard Wikipedia expectations for articles. If you wrote the section, please be sure to learn how to properly write/edit content for Wikipedia first before proceeding. Dashing out sloppy text because you think it is important just creates more work for other Wikipedians and misinforms our customers (the millions of people who consult Wikipedia to learn about a topic). As an example of the articles you should review first—before adding a new section on this topic—here are links to some of the empirical literature about stellate ganglion block as a proposed treatment for PTSD:

Some Treatments Not Specifically For PTSD

edit

It may help this Wiki page to be more concise to delete some of the treatments that have little to no academic or research evidence of being efficacious with PTSD. Specifically, the emotion-focused, metacognitive, and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy sections could be deleted since they are not specific to the treatment of PTSD. I feel that it is more important to include the other treatments listed and include more detail to more accurately represent common treatments for PTSD. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Keh13 (talkcontribs) 20:35, 6 December 2020 (UTC)Reply

Rename

edit

Someone should rename this article to "Treatment of PTSD" — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2600:1700:1154:3500:1D64:33FE:7B60:2AA0 (talk) 23:20, 5 May 2022 (UTC)Reply

Is EMDR pseudoscience?

edit

I found inconsistent information on english wikipedia articles about EMDR scientific validity. Is there some expert who could explain in a neutral point of view both the sides in order to edit the articles? Moro, il veneto (talk) 20:12, 27 November 2022 (UTC)Reply
