Alleged Relationship with al-Qaeda
editThis information was interspersed throughout the biography, and made some vague and unsupported claims. I added a section for this controversy and tried to present a neutral account of his potential connections to al-Qaeda. Some sentences made interesting claims, but without a source they seemed like original research or an attempt to inject unfounded claims that may be contrary to a NPOV. I corrected claims where the linked sources provide specific sources for the claims, and deleted claims that seemed unsupported. Llachglin 20:11, 28 June 2006 (UTC)
- I'm glad you addressed this issue. Other such unsupported claims in the past led to successful lawsuits by Turki against those who made the allegations without documentation. Personally, I think such allegations are spurious, and deserve no place here. This is, after all, a man who has currently been spending a great deal of his time in Washington, D.C., where he maintains a connection with Georgetown University. This entire biography needs to be recrafted, with more attention to fact, and less to sensational claims that have been adequately rebutted elsewhere. Fair use rationale for Image:Saudi-logo.jpg
editImage:Saudi-logo.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 22:03, 5 June 2007 (UTC)
Quotations
editSomeone has added a quotation, to wit: "Enough is enough, today we are all Palestinians and we seek martyrdom for God and for Palestine, following those who died in Gaza." I doubt this quotation is correct, and it is incendiary enough that it ought not be cited without some substantiating reference, i.e. footnote. MarmadukePercy (talk) 07:53, 26 January 2009 (UTC)
Prince Turki Ambassador to Ireland and UK
editThis is FALSE. He was only ambassador to the Court of St. James. I understand that some websites allege that but that is absolutely not true.
- You are RIGHT in that he was ambassador to the Court of St. James İn London.Egeymi (talk) 20:19, 23 April 2012 (UTC)

Requested move 19 March 2024
edit- The following is a closed discussion of a requested move. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on the talk page. Editors desiring to contest the closing decision should consider a move review after discussing it on the closer's talk page. No further edits should be made to this discussion.
The result of the move request was: moved. Although this RM was opposed on the grounds that the proposed title is not the subject's official name, a convincing case was laid out for the proposed title being the WP:COMMONNAME. Article titling policy dictates that, in the absence of other considerations, the common name should be used even if it is not the official name; thus, the balance of policy-backed arguments supports the proposed move. Turki bin Faisal Al Saud → Turki Al-Faisal – While his official name is "Turki bin Faisal Al-Saud", King Faisal's sons are commonly known with the unofficial last name "Al-Faisal". The name "Turki Al-Faisal" is more commonly used than "Turki Al-Saud", see examples [1][2][3][4][5] High surv (talk) 11:04, 19 March 2024 (UTC) — Relisting. Natg 19 (talk) 17:54, 27 March 2024 (UTC)
- Strong oppose, as mentioned above it's not his official name and also, in Saudi Arabian naming conventions the name of father is always part of the name. --Egeymi (talk) 12:48, 19 March 2024 (UTC)
- This is not the same as including the father's name. In the case of Al-Faisals it is used as a last name, which is not the convention for father's names (e.g. Mohammed Bin Salman is used, not "Mohammed Al-Salman").
- (as aresponse to your statement above I have to ask) Are you really familiar with Saudi name name convention. If not, I may provide a good source, Egeymi (talk) 20:22, 20 March 2024 (UTC)
- It is used semi-officially, as I included government and news sources. But that is besides the point, see WP:COMMON NAME, WP:OFFICIAL. High surv (talk) 20:06, 20 March 2024 (UTC)
- I think before giving these rules you should read the texts you cited which include the following; Turki Al Faisal Al Saud, Turki bin Faisal Al Saud. So these examples don't support your statement. I may also add other examples from other respected sources which are opposite of your claim. Egeymi (talk) 20:20, 20 March 2024 (UTC)
- I don't dispute that both names are used, but one is much more commonly used. This is pretty clear if you check the sources used in this article. High surv (talk) 08:53, 21 March 2024 (UTC)
