This now needs to be changed to Turkish general election, November 2015 in light of the recent announcement of snap polls. Maswimelleu (talk) 11:50, 21 August 2015 (UTC)Reply

Article title

edit

The president officially called for early elections only today. The election date is yet to be determined by YSK. You should not have moved the article title prematurely based on sensational newspaper headlines. The president doesn't have the authority to pick an election date. The date for the Next Turkish general election, including whether it will be in November, are yet to be known.--18.107.0.20 (talk) 21:02, 24 August 2015 (UTC)Reply

The election date was set today.--172.56.22.223 (talk) 15:59, 25 August 2015 (UTC)Reply

Seat change

edit

I am copying my comment from Talk:Turkish general election, June 2015 here:

Template:Infobox election defines "Seat change" as "The change in the number of seats won at the election compared to the previous election." In some countries, such as UK, this definition is not followed and the comparison is made against the seats before the election, rather than seats in the previous election. This makes sense for those countries that have single-member district, because they have the notion of each seat being connected to a constituency and therefore there is such a thing as a party keeping a seat, or losing it to a different party. This doesn't apply to other countries with different electoral systems, such as Turkey. In those cases, the comparison is always made against the previous election, as that is the measure of the party's success compared to the previous election. Indeed, comparing it to the seats before the election doesn't make sense because, unlike countries with single-member districts, seats are often vacated in most countries and are not filled until the next election, so the number of MPs is lower at the end of the term, which would make it appear that parties increased their seats, even when they actually did not. I guess this was made because someone with more familiarity with the UK elections contributed the article the most. I propose to correct it and change the numbers in accordance with the definition. Also see other countries' election infoboxes, they also obey the definition, e.g. German federal election, 2013, French legislative election, 2012, etc. Indeed, like in those pages, it would be best to remove the "Seats before" line. It is very relevant to UK elections and countries with similar systems, but not to others. That info is already available in the Parliamentary composition subsection.

Also, if that info will be there, AKP's "seat before" is 259, not 258, as can be seen from the sources in the Parliamentary composition subsection.--Orwellianist (talk) 21:51, 1 November 2015 (UTC)Reply

Nub Cake, you wrote "Clearing up position on Turkeş: he sat as an independent for the remainder of the 25th Parliament, because as an INDEPENDENT minister in interim cabinet, he would have had to resign as deputy PM if he be became partisan." I am not sure about that. Sources confirm that he joined the AKP, and the constitution doesn't say he needs to resign in that case. The constitution is just concerned with the appointment of ministers. Once the MHP member is appointed, the requirement is satisfied; he can resign from his party, change parties etc, he wouldn't need to resign. You could maybe make the case that he should even if the constitution doesn't exactly specify that, because otherwise it can be abused, but I guess neither of us are constitutional lawyers.
In either case, I think the seat changes must be specified compared to the previous election results, as I said.--Orwellianist (talk) 16:58, 2 November 2015 (UTC)Reply

Results

edit

Under the headline "Results" it is linked to what is called the main article: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Results_breakdown_of_the_Turkish_general_election,_June_2015 but this is about the election in June. --Oddeivind (talk) 09:11, 4 November 2015 (UTC)Reply

Nationwide results

edit

In this section: Nov'15 - Nationwide results - Ağrı (electoral district) has been forgotten. You have to display the results for the Ağrı (electoral district) as well.

On the table, AĞRI should be written /placed just below Afyonkarahisar.

Erdogan became a member of AKP

edit

Source[1], so this mean, he will go to election as president under AKP, but as the head of the party as well. Beshogur (talk) 14:45, 4 May 2017 (UTC)Reply
