Worth a mention here? Perhaps when he does have his plan? Hcobb (talk) 04:07, 8 February 2012 (UTC)
friction due to Syrian civil war
editI changed the heading of this section. Previously it was "Syrian refugees in Turkey," but the section now deals with several other areas of conflict between Turkey and Syria related to the uprising in Syria. I also added a current event tag to the section, and information about the recent downing of a Turkish jet near the Turkish-Syrian border. Zefryl (talk) 19:18, 23 June 2012 (UTC)
"self-annexation"?
editI don't think the term "self-annexation" is at all commonly understood among the general public, so if it is to be used in the article, it needs to be explained a lot more than it is now.
Also, in terms of practical power politics, it's widely known that France detached Alexandretta from Syria to give it to Turkey, so I don't know why this can't be mentioned in the article... AnonMoos (talk) 07:25, 26 June 2012 (UTC)
Colour co-ordination
editIn the picture at the top of the article, Turkey is coloured red and Syira blue. However, underneath the map Syria is denoted as green and Turkey as orange. Surely if the colours matched up it would help? I'm just going to go ahead and change them unless anybody objects. Cooltrainer Hugh (talk) 15:53, 26 June 2012 (UTC)
- EDIT: As it happens, I am unable to do this. Perhaps somebody else in the know could. Cooltrainer Hugh (talk) 15:57, 26 June 2012 (UTC)
Artillery shellings to Akcakale
editAt the article it says that Turkey have attacked Syria on 3rd October and only briefly mentions the reasoning of the attack. It made it sound like Turkey was an aggressor with this. However, earlier on 3rd October the Assad forces had send mortar attacks at the Akcakale killing 2 women, 3 children and injuring 12. I am accepting the fact that it might be an accident as those forces were fighting at Tel Abyad border control but stating Turkey without providing about shelling won't be fair to the Turkish intentions. This information should be put by author or someone else ASAP. I would put it myself but still don't entirely how to write articles at Wiki. Thanks and please take this at notice. Airplane Conflict
editWhy, write the article no controversy regarding it with that country, forcing passengers on flights to the acid of violence, if not write during its on the emergency landing was voluntary and that they were not forced down by military aircraft in the air? --89.249.2.53 (talk) 09:49, 11 October 2012 (UTC) http://rt.com/news/plane-passenger-reaction-140/
