Damage images

edit

Can we add my images of the CAR and Pangasinan provinces after Doksuri? Songda Talas 05:50, 29 July 2023 (UTC)Reply

@SongdaTalas: Definitely! If you took these pictures yourself, upload them on Commons under an appropriate license, and add them into the article. Chlod (say hi!) 05:53, 29 July 2023 (UTC)Reply
They have been on commons (I took them while on a Victory Liner bus). Will choose some to add now. Songda Talas 06:11, 29 July 2023 (UTC)Reply
I don't believe there are any issues with using photos you have taken yourself so long as they are a fair and accurate representation of the subject and show what you are intending to show. Jurisdicta (talk) 16:58, 6 August 2023 (UTC)Reply

Damage Total Source

edit

After looking through the sources both listed here on Wiki and in general on Google, I can't find the source supporting the 15+ Billion dollars of damage in China from the storm. While I don't doubt it might get there considering the flooding in Beijing, this seems like someone may have rushed to judgement. -Blueony Blueony (talk) 06:06, 12 August 2023 (UTC)Reply

@Blueony: Ref #169 (https://www.reuters.com/world/asia-pacific/impact-floods-china-after-typhoon-doksuri-2023-08-11/) lists $13.25 billion in Heibei and $2.04 billion in Fujian. Chlod (say hi!) 06:10, 12 August 2023 (UTC)Reply
Alright, didn't see that one, wasn't linked in the article directly from the damage total and sometimes the sources get tangled. Good to know. Blueony (talk) 06:32, 12 August 2023 (UTC)Reply

Typhoon Doksuri (2023)Typhoon Doksuri – This Doksuri is the second-costliest typhoon on record and it killed over 130 people. It was also more powerful and significant than the other Doksuris. EvilDumplingDuck (talk) 12:21, 14 August 2023 (UTC)Reply

Some proof from article

edit

Typhoon Doksuri, known in the Philippines as Super Typhoon Egay, was a powerful, deadly and destructive tropical cyclone, which became the costliest typhoon to hit China on record, the strongest typhoon to impact Fujian since Typhoon Meranti in 2016, and the most powerful typhoon to strike the province since records began in 1950. Notice 'deadly', 'destructive' and some records. Wayner235! (talk) 07:27, 19 August 2023 (UTC)Reply
