Talk:U.S. Route 1 in Georgia

Latest comment: 3 years ago by Morriswa in topic Third Street

Here's what I can find about the numbers before it became SR 4; information is mostly from [1] and [2]. Bold is now SR 4; italic was still numbered the same in 1939.

  • SR 15 Florida, Folkston, Alma, Hazlehurst, Lumber City, Glenwood, Dublin
  • SR 32 Tifton, Ocilla, Douglas, Alma, Baxley, west of Glennville, Reidsville
  • nothing from Baxley to Swainsboro
  • SR 17 Swainsboro, Louisville, Wrens, Gibson, Warrenton, Thomson, Washington
  • SR 24 Eatonton, Milledgeville, Sandersville, Louisville, Wrens, Augusta

New SR 4 was designated between 1927 and 1930. --NE2 07:44, 3 August 2006 (UTC)Reply

Concurrencies

edit

Could someone add the extreme amount of concurrencies along U.S. Route 1's route in Georgia? For a stretch, the road is US 1/23/301/GA 4/15/23/121 (and may have more Georgia state routes that I may have forgotten about. Also, there are many other concurrencies along U.S. Route 1 that could be added as an example of an extreme number of concurriences along one highway.

Thank you.

Saving existing Major Intersections table with mile markers

edit

I am replacing the existing Major Intersections table in this article with a Jctint table; however, in the new table, I am leaving out the mile posts, as I have no reliable data outside of Google Maps. Since the existing table does have mile posts, but is not referenced, I wanted to be sure to keep the existing data, in case someone can confirm the mile posts, which could then be inserted into the new table. Third Street

edit

Even know Third Street is non-visible on the map, it's not a major intersection.

Can you better explain what you are talking about? A "major intersection" has to be a numbered road (Interstate, U.S. Highway, state highway, etc.), an interchange, or a note about a former path of a highway. It fulfills the last one, so it is allowed. Morriswa (Charlotte Allison) (talk) 00:21, 13 December 2020 (UTC)Reply
