Incorrect photo
editIt is amazing to me that you have posted the picture of the USS CANOPUS (AS-34) but to identify the USS LY SPEAR (AS-36) you fail to render the same courtesy. I am a plank owner to the SPEAR and I find it demeaning to this great lady and her crew, please update and correct your page accordingly. plenty of pictures exist especially her commissioning picture which show her original glory. She was commissioned with two(2) 5"38 guns one forward and one aft. So please render to her the respect her and her crew members deserve and update this page with the correct information and by the way she was commissioned February 28, 1970 as I said I was there and I am a PLANK OWNER. Thank You....209.247.22.175 19:03, 28 June 2007 (UTC)

USS L. Y. Spear (AS-36) → USS L. Y. Spear – Only ship of this name. – Illegitimate Barrister (talk • contribs), 10:17, 11 January 2019 (UTC)

- Support. But I think it important to refer to Wikipedia:Naming conventions (ships)#Naming articles about military ships, especially Note 1 there which states that hull and pennant numbers are only to be used when needed for disambiguation. Some specific naming conventions go the opposite way, for various reasons. Andrewa (talk) 17:05, 18 January 2019 (UTC)

Infobox error?
editI'm no expert, but are the beam and draft numbers swapped? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Tfdavisatsnetnet (talk • contribs) 02:01, 26 November 2020 (UTC)
