Top photo

edit

The top photo, showing the Ruddy arriving Pearl Harbor was taken by me on 28 January 1955. The photo was taken from the accompanying USS Zeal, AM-131, which carried the commodore's flag.

Both the Zeal and the Ruddy sailed together from Long Beach, California, 20 January 1955, and then both departed Pearl on the 3 February 1955, bound for Sasebo, Japan, which they both reached on February 16, 1955.

The "rough sea" photo of the Ruddy (shown below in the text) was taken by me shortly after we sailed from Pearl and was not associated with the typhoon we hit in the Sea of Japan shortly before arriving Japan.

I have another "rough sea" photo of the Ruddy, from the same time frame, and may add it.Wikited (talk) 13:23, 20 January 2008 (UTC)Reply

Added Third Photo

edit

Added third personal photo into the article, but first had to make room for the photos by expanding the text into smaller pieces plus adding headings. Otherwise, photos would have been jammed up at the bottom. There is a fourth personal photo I had, but did not add it. If someone else feels it should be include and has the creativity to place it nicely, here it is:

Good luck. Wikited (talk) 22:09, 20 January 2008 (UTC)Reply
