Request for comparison with EM transducers (radio, IR)

edit

In case of using the ultrasonic as sensor for detecting the movement of the persons, so it will switch on the connected electrical lights to it when there are peopole movement.

What is the deffierence between this untlrasonic and other sensors working on the same idea but using the infrared technology and the high frequency technology. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 195.229.241.172 (talk) 09:52, 12 August 2008 (UTC)Reply

Vandalism

edit

There were a couple instances of vandalism by IP addresses and the article has been reverted. The vandalism was simply a removal of a large section of text. I recommend making this page semi-protected if this has occurred before or does again. --Inthend9 (talk) 20:04, 27 August 2010 (UTC)Reply

Redirect and pagename

edit

Move history, recorded here for reference:

Reason: Transducer is the top-level hypernym (transduce = convert energy, especially signals, between forms of energy); transceiver (transceive = both transmit and receive) is the next lower; sensor (sense, detect), receiver (receive), and transmitter (transmit) are the hyponyms. All ultrasonic sensors are transducers, but not all ultrasonic transducers are sensors; therefore, the former direction of redirect/pagename was backwards from the logical one. Quercus solaris (talk)
