Blood Enemy
editWill this be basically a filmatization of Blood Enemy? 81.233.196.49 (talk) 20:11, 28 May 2008 (UTC)
- Doubt it. Marcus is not listed as a cast member. His son Nikolai was also a significant presence in the book (if only to trigger Lucian's first moonless transformation). Chronolegion (talk) 03:43, 2 June 2008 (UTC)
The filming section.
editContradicts what is said in the previous sections. Also it has no references.66.65.225.168 (talk) 02:25, 5 January 2009 (UTC)
Selene
editWhere does selene's story fit in all this? if i remember correctly in the second film william is imprisoned in a casket type thing made for him by selene's father. but even then in the memory shes only a girl. obviously she was transformed into a vampire when she was much older, but im kinda confused as to when this all takes place. if they keep to this storyline then william is still free in rise of the lycans. also on another note in the beginning of evolution we see all 3 vampire rulers hunting william. when did they all wake up together? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.30.170.178 (talk) 21:51, 25 January 2009 (UTC)
I believe william was captured soon after the vampires and werewolves cam into being. Rise of the Lycans prolly takes place afterword since Marcus and Amellia are asleep. Pure speculation, but I imagine they decided on the one awake, two asleep policy after elliminating their major threat, William. Has anyone considered a section on inconsistencies between the 3 instalments? 98.28.114.229 (talk) 22:03, 25 January 2009 (UTC)
What other inconsistencies have you found?
- There are multiple inconsistencies between the three movies.
- For starters, official marketing for the first movie stated Selene was 127 years old, whereas the second movie stated she was 600 years old. The timeline this movie establishes makes her somewhat less than 600 and probably closer to 550.
- The website claims Viktor is nearly 1000 years old, but this makes zero sense because the movie itself puts the creation of the vampires and lycans at late 1100's.
- The first movie states that Lucian was branded as Viktor's slave, and that brand was what convinced Viktor that Kraven had killed Lucian- yet Lucian has no brand at any point during RotL.
- Sonja has blonde hair and green eyes in the first movie, but brown hair and brown eyes in this one
- Sonja's death scene is different from the first movie. In the original Underworld, she screamed and took some time to burn, whereas she burns quite quickly in RotL
- Kraven is not seen in RotL, despite that he was revealed to be a very trusted and close servant of Viktor only a few weeks later.
- Viktor states in the first movie that the chain has been around for 14 centuries, yet this movie shows that the species itself hasn't even been around for that long. AlessaGillespie (talk) 10:18, 31 January 2009 (UTC)
- Not all of these are actually inconsistencies - that Sonja looks different in two movies is no inconsistency (especially given the blood memory nature of the scene in part 1). That Lucian has no brand in Underworld III is not an inconsistency but a mistake.
- There seems to be a switching back and forth between a vampires began around 500 AD and around 1200 AD throughout all movies, though the 500 AD timeline is merely present in rhetorical passages like the "14 centuries". Viktor being "nearly thousand years old" is even more hyperbolic. OTOH, Selene was retroactively made older to fit her into the the origins timeframe (which makes her being duped by Viktor a bit less credible), though an age of 600 still doesn't conform with the actual events depicted.
- But the actual events as depicted fit neatly into the 1200 AD timeline.
- Alexander Corvinus first lived and became immortal around 500 AD.
- Sometime between that and 1202 AD (but probably more to the end of the period), two of his sons became vampire and werewolf. Markus asked the dying Viktor for help and made him a vampire too. In 1202 the three Elders captured William.
- After this Viktor had the prison constructed by Selene's father (Selene being a little girl then). Lucian must also been born at the time. Selene (as a human), Lucian and Sonja must be approximately the same age.
- About the time also the Elder must have adopted the hibernation schedule, as Viktor appears as the sole ruler in Underworld III. If we suppose that Underworld I is set in 2003 (the year it came out), this fits, with the Elders ruling: Viktor 1203-1303, Amelia 1303-1403, Markus 1403-1503, Viktor 1503-1603, Amelia 1603-1703, Markus 1703-1803, Viktor 1803-1903, Amelia 1903-2003, Markus 2003
- About 20 or 30 years after William's capture, Lucian revolted and took the key pendant with him. Viktor killed Selene's family and made her a vampire (the time is necessitated by the age difference between Selene as a little girl during the prison's construction and Selene's "bodily" age as a vampire)

- Saying that the haircolor change and lack of a brand are not inconsistencies is allowing the ineptitude of the people making these movies to become acceptable. Unless you can explain why Michael would get a clear and consistent image of a man he had never met perfectly correct, as well as the room she died in, but just happen to get the woman's image wrong- it's a massive inconsistency.
The book states this movie takes place in the 1400's, yet according to your timeline, Viktor should not be awake. It should be Markus. The book also states that Selene is 200 years younger than Lucian and Sonja, meaning they were both born around the time of William's capture. Not to mention that Andreas Tanis suddenly becomes Arnaud Tanis without any explanation as to the name change. Why change the name if you're not going to explain why? Or maybe this is just like the death scene- the director had the death scene all mapped out, then he suddenly realized it was entirely different in the first movie and had to go back and change it all up. Watching the first film ususally tends to help when you're making the third one. AlessaGillespie (talk) 04:06, 8 March 2009 (UTC)
Viktor and Marcus
editSo i thought i heard Viktor (evolution) say that if Marcus was killed everyone would die (as true in most vampire myths) so when Viktor dies why doesn't Selene or why dont all vampire's die once Marcus dies at the end? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.30.170.178 (talk) 21:53, 25 January 2009 (UTC)
- Possibly because he was no longer the pure vampire? He was a hybrid after the one guys blood poured into him at the end of the 1st film, so maybe some kinda loophole? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 75.92.198.1 (talk) 23:15, 28 January 2009 (UTC)
- Viktor is under the impression that if Markus dies then all the vampires will die. That is why viktor didnt completely wrest power away from markus (after markus turned him and his army into the first death dealers loyal to viktor) and distributed it between himself, marcus, and amelia. Markus thus has neccesitated his survival to viktor under a false pretense.
- If we can believe Tannis in Underworld II (and we must, given Marcus' death at the end of the film), this belief was inaccurate. But in contrast to what the initial poster here claims this is not "true in most vampire myths" - most vampire myths do not have such a belief and some that have (as Anne Rice's vampire chronicles) propose it only to shove it aside when necessary (see Queen of the Damned's conclusion). Comment
editThe underworld series cause for vampires and lycans is rooted in a genetic explanation in stark contrast to the mytic approach used by other stories.68.89.175.209 (talk) 17:54, 29 January 2009 (UTC)
- And what is your reasoning for pointing out this fact here? Str1977 (talk) 15:49, 21 February 2009 (UTC)
Markus and William Corvinus. And Lucian.
editOk. Whoever did up this article, is an idiot. They got three of the main character completely wrong.
First off, William Corvinus is a TRUE lycan. The very first. He is also refered to as the Father of all Lycans. 1st and 2nd gen alike. He is the twin brother to the very first Vamp, Markus. (as you can tell, I do not like Vampiers at all. Long live the Lycans)
Secondly, this is what really got me pissed. Lucian, is a friggin hybrid. Not a 1st gen Lycan. If you watched the movie, you would have realised that Lucian was born a human baby. Making him the first lycan hybrid.
Thirdly, Markus Corvinus. Markus, is the very first Vamp. Not a fuking hybrid.
To the writer of this article, please, learn you facts before you go and write something.
~~Roach1990~~
- Whoever did the paragraph about William Corvinus is a complete idiot William was the very first WEREWOLF meaning he could not change back into a human. A LYCAN has the ability to change into a wolf and back into a human. Lucian was the first LYCAN and father of all LYCANS and William was the first WEREWOLF, father of all the werewolves seen in RoTL.
