This needs to be moved back to USATC S100 Class

edit

The move was a mistake. The title is too long. Please undo it. Tony May (talk) 02:40, 9 October 2018 (UTC)Reply

Please move back United States Army Transportation Corps class S100 to USATC S100 Class (its common name). It was moved over a year ago, for no good reason. Tony May (talk) 02:43, 9 October 2018 (UTC)Reply

@Tony May: I cannot see why admin action is needed here (nor why contacting an admin directly should be the best way of tackling the problem). Have you asked The ed17 (talk · contribs) why they moved it in June 2017, have you asked them to move it back? If they do not wish to do so, is there a reason why you cannot move the page yourself? Hint: first move United States Army Transportation Corps class S100 and its talk page to United States Army Transportation Corps S100 Class, then move them to USATC S100 Class.
If you also do not wish to do this, please follow the directions at WP:RM. --Redrose64 🌹 (talk) 18:34, 9 October 2018 (UTC)Reply
Would anyone know what USATC means without having seen the other link above? Would a general reader enter that as a search term? No. PS: Thanks for the ping! Ed [talk] [majestic titan] 03:39, 10 October 2018 (UTC)Reply
We commonly use abbreviations in titles of locomotive articles. The new title is absurdly long, and it is also wrong. Either keep the abbreviations or move all articles to their full titles e.g. move LNER Class J94 to "London and North Eastern Railway Class J94 - and ALL the other LNER locomotives as well. Then the same for ALL the other railways. Tony May (talk) 04:30, 10 October 2018 (UTC)Reply
