Orphaned references in List of supercentenarians from Asia

edit

I check pages listed in Category:Pages with incorrect ref formatting to try to fix reference errors. One of the things I do is look for content for orphaned references in wikilinked articles. I have found content for some of List of supercentenarians from Asia's orphans, the problem is that I found more than one version. I can't determine which (if any) is correct for this article, so I am asking for a sentient editor to look it over and copy the correct ref content into this article.

Reference named "Supercentenarians who lived in the United Kingdom":

I apologize if any of the above are effectively identical; I am just a simple computer program, so I can't determine whether minor differences are significant or not. AnomieBOT 13:06, 21 March 2015 (UTC)Reply

Unverified supercentenarians from China

edit

Should be the unverified supercentenarians from China also included into the section "Living Asian supercentenarians"? China does not have neither pending nor verified cases until yet. --31.19.176.168 (talk) 10:36, 3 August 2015 (UTC)Reply

Zhou Youguang, in particular. Nobody really doubts his age, since he was famous since decades ago (for non-age=related reasons), but it's not been verified officially. --83.237.104.167 (talk) 09:14, 15 January 2016 (UTC)Reply

Requested move 27 August 2015

edit

It has been proposed that List of supercentenarians from Asia be renamed and moved to List of oldest Asian people. The discussion is taking place at Talk:List_of_African_supercentenarians#Requested_move_27_August_2015. -- Ricky81682 (talk) 07:28, 30 August 2015 (UTC)Reply

Only Japanese cases

edit

Can someone explain why the "List of supercentenarians from Asia" (title of the list) only covers Japanese cases? It seems, that the existing Japanese list has just another name if you look how the list is structured. Only Japanese subtitles, so that you can believe, Asia is only Japan (which would be a great opinion in the vicinity of Tokyo, but not in that of Beijing, Mumbai, Tehran, Jakarta, Bangkok, Manila, Riyadh or Pyongyang...)--37.4.93.37 (talk) 12:41, 24 December 2015 (UTC)Reply

It's one of the screwed up things in this topic. The super old researchers at GRG don't accept documentation from 97% of Asians outside Japan. Editors refused to delete this page because some super old people might be recognized outside Japan, so when some are found they can be listed in another section. ~==Errors?== According to http://www.grg.org/Adams/L/Japan.HTM there was a 120 year old, which is not shown at the top of the table just inserted. I suspect other errors too. Legacypac (talk) 20:00, 12 January 2016 (UTC)Reply

Thanks, I'll update on that. STSC (talk) 20:25, 12 January 2016 (UTC)Reply

Any reason why this article needs to exist?

edit

I'm restoring the redirect to the Japanese supercentenarian article. This is a fully redundant and unnecessary supercentenarian list. 50 of the 53 names in article are already mentioned/covered in List of Japanese supercentenarians. Of the 3 names remaining, Yisrael Kristal is covered in his own article and (at least) 4 other lists, Lucy d'Abreu is in List of supercentenarians from the United Kingdom and Ethel Farrell is in List of Australian supercentenarians. A list of 4 names isn't notable and no information is lost in a redirect/delete. Not to mention this article also fails WP:LISTN as no sources discuss this particular data set.
