editThe reason some of this information appears on the http://www.roacusa.org/bishops.html page is that the page in question is an official site of the Russian Orthodox Autonomous Church and the text is a translation of this page http://www.rpac.ru/article/18, which has the official biography of the deceased metropolitan, and from which facts have been taken (facts are taken from official sites, they are not made up by anyone). - The clarification's appreciated, but we need to make sure that the text from the official biography can be released under Wikipedia's license. Facts are not copyrightable, but the way they're presented is. Please see the tag on the talk page and see if you can re-write with the information in the biography but without using the words in the biography. Does that make sense? Please let me know if you have any further questions. Happy editing! — madman 16:23, 20 January 2012 (UTC)
Do you want me to send you an official release and approval from the Synod (you can “search what it is in Wikipedia) of Bishops of the ROAC? I have never seen such a persecution towards any article; it seems your agency is really against the publication of the biography of this bishop, who not only was persecuted when he was alive but now his life is being persecuted by a company that supposedly promotes freedom. Kybihetz21 (talk) 03:39, 21 January 2012 (UTC)
- We are indeed promoting freedom, by trying to make sure that all of the text of our encyclopedia is free. This procedure in no way reflects prejudice towards the subject of this article; all of our articles have to be released under the same license. If in fact an official release and approval from the Synod of Bishops of the ROAC could be sent to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, that would solve the problem post-haste. Other ways it can donate the copyrighted material are presented here: Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. We are trying to protect the ROAC's copyright by verifying that we can freely distribute it. Thank you, — madman 04:34, 24 January 2012 (UTC)
It has been done already. Kybihetz21 (talk) 02:58, 28 January 2012 (UTC)
