Vinga, Romania → Vinga, Arad – I made a technical request to move this page to Vinga, Arad. This was challenged on the basis of WP:PLACEDAB, which states that “places are often disambiguated by the country in which they lie”. While I do not contest this guideline, it is also longstanding practice that every single commune in Romania that needs disambiguation is styled by “Commune, County”. For example, Bata, Arad, Pilu, Arad, Cocu, Argeș, Negri, Bacău, Parava, Bacău, Baru, Hunedoara, Zam, Hunedoara, Bala, Mehedinți — note that all these place names are unique in Romania.
If we are to keep the present title, this requires the additional step of changing all commune titles needing disambiguation to “Commune, Romania” or “Commune, County, Romania”, neither of which is particularly useful or simple. We may as well, therefore, implement my proposal and continue the approach that has served us well for about twenty years. Biruitorul Talk 17:20, 1 December 2024 (UTC)
- Support -- "Vinga, Romania" is by now anomalous

- Support per WP:CONSISTENT. I favour giving preference to common practice among articles within a same topic. If we are to question this practice, all articles should be discussed together, rather than leaving a single one different from the rest. Super Ψ Dro 20:31, 1 December 2024 (UTC)
