This article might be part of the article Voicemail. Telephone voice recording has been around since 1935; sorting stored messages since (?) the '60's. Now add a text record of who called and sort that instead of the audio record. Is it the term "visual voicemail" that's important?; or is it the fact that the latest version of text-record-of-an-audio-record uses email protocol that is important? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.228.67.204 (talk) 22:08, 5 September 2014 (UTC)
Random access voicemail
editWhat does "random access" in "random access voicemail" mean? Can we either get a source to support this or a clarification of what this means? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 162.157.95.102 (talk) 04:52, 23 December 2016 (UTC)
I remember using 'Visual Voice Mail' in the '90s
editI worked at SGI and they had an online system that you could use to manage your messages, and you could do so using the phone too. I don't think the iPhone was the first in any way. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Davidmaxwaterman (talk • contribs) 11:49, 18 June 2019 (UTC)
