editI don't understand why this page has been deleted. The website information was not copyrighted at all.
Furthermore, the entry was created under the direction of the VBAS Board of directors.
Could someone please clarify?

- Copyright protection is automatic under the US law which governs Wikipedia, so no copyright statement is necessary to protect the contents of the website. On the contrary, unless the material can be demonstrated to be copyright free, copyright is presumed. See WP:C. If you are the copyright owner or have permission, however, you can verify the license by one of the processes at donating copyrighted materials. Since Wikipedia does not verify identities on account creation, we must use such external processes to ensure we are copyright compliant. If you verify by license statement at the original website, the material can be restored. All you need do is put a link on the talk page pointing to the licensing statement and provide necessary attribution in the article (a statement indicating that text is taken verbatim under license and from where; we do have some templates designed to make this credit easier. Depending on what licensing allowance is made, you might use Template:CCBYSASource or Template:Dual. If you mail a release, the Wikimedia Foundation volunteer who addresses your letter will restore the material from the deleted history. If you have questions about any of this, please feel free to drop by my talk page, and I'll be happy to further explain. --Moonriddengirl (talk) 14:02, 15 October 2009 (UTC)
