"It is nicknamed The Zoo."
As a two-year resident of Warren from 2001-2003, this was news to me... --MC MasterChef 05:30, 24 August 2005 (UTC)
"Notorious for seeming" is very weasely.. this really needs sourcing or rewording. Can you dig up an article in the Daily Free Press to quote these unnamed students' complaints? — MC MasterChef :: Leave a tip — 04:54, 26 October 2005 (UTC)
Yeah, lived in Warren last year and never heard of leaking. --okieman1200 08:25, 12 November 2005 (UTC)
I live on Bay State Road and I know people who live in Warren, but have never heard it called "the zoo".--Alhutch 23:09, 29 November 2005 (UTC)
Currently living in Warren, can attest to large puddles under work areas, though have never heard it referred to as "the zoo." --Jeff Greco 21:19, 5 December 2005 (UTC)
I lived in C-Tower when it was new (1967-68). I don't recall hearing the term "Zoo" used as a title either, but we surely thought of it as a zoo at times. This was just because of the large number of people, the zoo-like atmosphere, and the occasional hijinks. One drunken student climbed on top of an elevator car and rode it up and down, until he was pinned against a beam, fracturing his pelvis. Of course, that was when the C-tower was exclusively for men and the A- and B-towers for women, making for a different residential culture. Pzavon 04:36, 2 January 2006 (UTC)
Please don't deface this page with opinions like:
Warren Towers is not know as a wonderful place to live hence the name "three pronged pitchfork from hell" which is well earned.
There is no evidence of this, obviously, and it is completely biased. I lived there for a term, and I never heard this phrase before.

editJust added a picture I took of Warren. it's not the best photo ever, but it will have to do for now.--Alhutch 19:30, 20 February 2006 (UTC)
ZOO
editI lived in Warren from 1998-2000 before wising up and moving out to Myles but everyone I lived with new it was nicknamed the zoo because of the 700.
Yes, I've heard it referred to as such before as well, though not by any recent residents. I'm sure I read somewhere Howard Stern referring to it as such... Pjorg 23:01, 1 May 2006 (UTC)
Suicide
editI lived on the 13th floor of Warren in 1996-97 and was told that a kid killed himself once. Somehow he jumped from the tower (from the roof? or took out a screen?) and landed on the AC unit below (I was in the left tower facing the Boston skyline)... when it rained.. the rain would puddle and you could faintly see the outline of what could be a human body. Myth? --204.14.239.190 17:54, 30 August 2006 (UTC)
In 1995, someone did jump from Warren Towers during finals. They evacutated the cafeteria right after it happened.
Warren Towers: not so big
editI know that we here at BU like to think that we're the biggest and baddest, but Warren towers is not actually the largest dorm in the US. A simple check of the BU housing website (http://www.bu.edu/housing/residences/largedorms/warren.html) lists its capacity at 1797. (And I won't even get into the argument over whether or not Warren Towers is actually 3 dorms or not.) In any case, the Jester Center at University of Texas at Austin houses 2,945 (http://www.utexas.edu/student/housing/?site=1&scode=4&id=140), which is quite a bit more. I'm fixing all the pages that make reference to this. --Michael 21:12, 29 September 2006 (UTC)
- I don't think anyone here has any type of inferiority complex that requires us to believe that we are the "biggest and baddest," but the fact is that the university has advertised for some time that Warren is the biggest non-military dorm in the U.S. Your reference seems to indicate that this is no longer the case. I'm sure I speak for everyone when I say that I appreciate your bringing this to light so that the article can be corrected.
- There's no need to make the editors of this article out to be people who don't respect facts. If there's something incorrect, please change it. I don't really see how Warren would be considered three dorms rather than one, but I guess that's something that could be discussed.
I also just checked out the Jester Center and its clear that the Jester Center is a complex of different buildings. There are more than one security post, this making them seperate living spaces. This is why, although in join it has more capacity than Warren Towers, 700 Commonwealth Avenue is truly a the largest non-military, sole standing structure in the country.

REM Lyrics
editI have yet to find anything to substantiate the claim that the R.E.M. song "It's the End of the World" references Warren Towers. The consensus seems to be that the lyrics are "foreign towers" not "Warren Towers." -Pjorg 20:32, 28 November 2006 (UTC)
- That's what I've found as well. Removing. Travisl 16:44, 4 December 2006 (UTC)

Taco Bell
editThe March 31 edit removed Taco Bell. Is it really gone? Tis a shame if it's true -- that's the first place I ever got the runs from the border. Travisl (talk) 15:47, 10 April 2008 (UTC)
Size of double dorm room?
editWhat is the size of the average double dorm room? 12' x 14'? 14' x 16'? Also, one or two windows per average room? And are wastebaskets provided? Just some necessary questions. Please email them to me at sheila.wall@gmail.com.
Also, when you think back to your freshman year, what were some things that you coulda/shoulda done that would have made the experience better--especially if you were from out of town, and there was no convenient, fast, cheap escape?
Thanks!
