What the article lede should say
editAfter the move of this article I just made, the first para of this article should read:
- Warsaw Gdańska station (Warszawa Gdańska or Dworzec Gdański in Polish) is a railway station in the northern part of the city of Warsaw. It is located on the so-called Northern Line, a railway running between the Warsaw's central area and the borough of Żoliborz.
Unfortunately the spam filter blocks the url www.metro.waw.pl, which is used in a very useful link under external links. As I'm not prepared to remove this link, I cannot update the article to make this change. I have request the removal of this rather bizarre blacklist entry (www.metro.waw.pl is the official website of the Warsaw Metro, and await further developments. -- Chris j wood 17:37, 19 September 2006 (UTC)
- And quite fortunately so. First of all, the Dworzec Gdański metro station is not the same thing as the railway station that's been there since 19th century. Secondly, it's an international convention to use local names for train stations. Hence we have articles on Berlin Hauptbahnhof and Gare de l'Est, and not on Berlin Main Station and Paris Eastern Station. That said, I moved the article and will try to improve it. //Halibutt 18:36, 19 September 2006 (UTC)
