First government
editThis article has repeated references, to clearly reliable sources, claiming that the Watson Government was the first Labor Party government in the world.
...except, it demonstrably wasn't, as it was predated by five years by Anderson Dawson's government in Queensland. Does anyone know where this claim comes from? I changed it to "national" government, which is slightly more accurate, but even that is dubious since the Dawson government preceded Federation and thus ruled over Queensland as a separate colony.
Does anyone mind if I change these mentions to the first Australian federal Labor government, something which is inarguably and objectively true? The Drover's Wife (talk) 02:37, 28 November 2015 (UTC)
- Thanks Drover's Wife, yes we should clarify with "national" I think. I think the QLD colonial government was just that - a "colonial", rather than "national" government. Can I suggest though that you include brief details of the Dawson Government in the Background Section? Ozhistory (talk) 03:18, 28 November 2015 (UTC)
