Starting to read the article, will review it in a few days.VR talk 05:14, 10 June 2022 (UTC)Reply

Chidgk1, I read this article once. I will post a formal review soon. But my first impression is that it looks short. Specifically:

  • The history section is short. There is a picture "Historical windmill in Bodrum" so maybe you can include content on pre-modern windmills.

Thanks, looks good.VR talk 21:28, 20 June 2022 (UTC)Reply
  • There is no section on environmental impact. The article has just one sentence on windmills on bird routes.

Thanks, that's a big improvement.VR talk 21:28, 20 June 2022 (UTC)Reply
  • There is no discussion on the political dimension. I know Turkey has a loud democracy. Has most of this progress occurred during AKP era? How does the opposition feel about this?
Whilst the price of electricity is indeed a hot political topic (covered in another article), and some academics argue that more wind power would reduce the price, there is no political debate either for or against wind farms as such Chidgk1 (talk) 08:29, 13 June 2022 (UTC)Reply
Got it.VR talk 21:28, 20 June 2022 (UTC)Reply
  • What is the public opinion on wind farms? Are farmers upset?
Not much public opinion either way as far as I can tell - added a couple of sentences - farmers more relevant to other types of generation (e.g. solar agrivoltaics) as hilltops not important for farming - I hope to improve agriculture in Turkey some time later Chidgk1 (talk) 09:05, 13 June 2022 (UTC)Reply
Ok.VR talk 21:28, 20 June 2022 (UTC)Reply
Added a sentence but I think the UK article has too much tabular info which would be better held in Wikidata. The only "Wind power in ...." article I can find rated good is Wind power in South Australia but that was assessed in 2007 when there were far fewer wind farms so I doubt I can use that as a model. However if I do come across anything notable about an individual wind farm I will add it. Chidgk1 (talk) 11:02, 13 June 2022 (UTC)Reply

The article is currently short, even shorter than narrow topic engineering GAs like Concrete bus shelters in Canberra and Rail transport in Vatican City. I would very much prefer more details about actual wind plants in Turkey. But if you disagree, I can continue with the rest of the review and seek a second opinion on this particular topic.VR talk 21:28, 20 June 2022 (UTC)Reply
Happy to make the article longer but not sure that adding particular wind plant details would be worth the effort - more opinions/suggestions from others welcome - meanwhile if you can continue that would be great. For comparison I did a lot of work on List of active coal-fired power stations in Turkey but became frustrated that I was not allowed to automatically keep it up to date from Wikidata as I have done for the Turkish list at https://tr.wikipedia.org/wiki/T%C3%BCrkiye%27deki_k%C3%B6m%C3%BCr_yak%C4%B1tl%C4%B1_enerji_santralleri_listesi In any case I am reasonably confident that no more coal-fired power stations will be built whereas hopefully many more wind farms will. Someone else has made a list at List_of_power_stations_in_Turkey#Wind which can be linked from here. Chidgk1 (talk) 06:36, 22 June 2022 (UTC)Reply
On second thoughts as there are only 7 wind farms in Category:Wind_farms_in_Turkey I could excerpt their leads thus avoiding duplicate text - and if their leads are not good quality you can tell me and I could improve them. Would you be happy with that? Chidgk1 (talk) 06:54, 22 June 2022 (UTC)Reply
Yes, as long as the excerpts were of good quality.VR talk 16:48, 24 June 2022 (UTC)Reply

  • Another thing: I would organize the "Current and planned capacity" into three parts: the first part should be about current capacity, second part (in a subsection) should be about planned wind plants or those under construction, and final part can be about total potential that can theoretically be achieved.VR talk 21:28, 20 June 2022 (UTC)Reply

@Vice regent: I hope you are well - do I need to do anything else please? Chidgk1 (talk) 13:09, 26 July 2022 (UTC)Reply

@Vice regent: Have requested new reviewer - but if you become available will be happy for you to continue - thanks for your very valuable comments - which have improved the article a lot Chidgk1 (talk) 06:01, 24 August 2022 (UTC)Reply

I think a second pair of eyes might be helpful. I'll give my final comments soon.VR talk 16:12, 25 August 2022 (UTC)Reply
