Some woman seems to be threaten legal action against YTMND. Why isn't that mentioned?
editIf anyone has been to YTMND lately, they should know that alot users there have been mocking a women who has sent a phone message to the creator (Max) about how she is going to sue him if he doesn't take some stuff of his site. I don't know, somebody apparently made a YTMND featuring an image of her daughter and that is what cause the women to contact Max. Shouldn't this be mentioned in the "Conflicts" section? 108.56.164.232 (talk) 01:17, 3 April 2010 (UTC)
Yiddish Cup - What the hell is it?
editWhen Eric Bauman said "You must be out of your Yiddish Cup" and he certainly didn't mean 'You must be out of your dramatic-readong-fad-ytmnd' so I went to Wikipedia, which conveniently redirected me to the ytmnd wiki. Shouldn't it redirect to something on euro-jew culture or something? Or did E-baum just through that phrase together? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.235.186.51 (talk) 14:43, 3 May 2010 (UTC)
- The "cup" is really a Yiddish word קאָפּ kop, cognate to German Kopf, meaning "head". To be out of one's yiddishe kop means to be out of one's mind. (source: Positive Anymore) But if we can find corroborating sources that are more reliable, I agree that yiddishe kop (reason) and goyishe kop (lack of reason) merit a mention at least in an article about Yiddish culture. --Damian Yerrick (talk | stalk) 20:34, 3 May 2010 (UTC)
- I found it in Yinglish and then changed the redirect. --Damian Yerrick (talk | stalk) 14:46, 17 May 2010 (UTC)
PTKFGS
editWhy does searching for 'PTKFGS' bring me to this article and then not explain it? 75.68.138.138 (talk) 03:43, 14 June 2010 (UTC)
- More than likely, PTKFGS was previously mentioned in the article but then removed for failing WP:V: not having been mentioned in any sources outside of the YTMND community. --Damian Yerrick (talk | stalk) 03:02, 15 June 2010 (UTC)
- Perhaps inserting a small link to https://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=ptkfgs might go a long way towards allowing the YTMND article to "mention" PTKFGS and to [begin to] pass the "WP:V" test ... (right?)
- I do not know very much about urbandictionary.com ... nor about the Wikipedia consensus (or, lack of it!) about the reliability thereof. --Mike Schwartz (talk) 17:04, 18 September 2018 (UTC)
original line
editThe article should at least explain what the cryptic line meant in context of the film. Will leave the same note at the Finding Forrester article. DavidOaks (talk) 18:11, 10 September 2010 (UTC)

Decline?
editThough much has been said about the so-called "decline" of YTMND, upon looking at the site's Alexa rating in comparison to those of other popular humor sites during mid-2000s such as Albino Blacksheep, Homestar Runner, I-Mockery (though not Something Awful and definitely not 4chan), the site has not declined as much. Also, Encyclopedia Dramatica.ch's Alexa rating is very close to that of YTMND, yet nothing has been said of the "decline" of that site. Furthermore, dozens of YTMNDs are still made every day, and dozens of new users join YTMND every day. This "decline" is subjective, as YTMND has always been an obscure site, and still is. --JohnnyLurg (talk) 13:16, 21 March 2012 (UTC)
- I think it's been a year or so since I saw anyone post a YTMND link on any of the forums or other media I use, whereas YTMND used to be part of my everyday life living in the memescape. I don't have any facts to back it up but just in my own experience the decline seems to be very real. How is their Alex rating these days? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 167.230.96.11 (talk) 17:37, 23 October 2015 (UTC)

YTMND Wiki & Wikia sources
editThe YTMND wiki link given is unmaintained. The currently maintained one is at ytmnd.wikia.com.
Also, the following used the currently maintained YTMND wiki as a source and could not be added to the "Decline" section:
Due to the rise of video hosting sites, YTMND began a decline around 2008, though there was a brief resurgence of interest between 2014 and 2015[1] by several individuals unhappy with censorship on YouTube. This resurgence of interest ended when many of these individuals and their content were banned[2] or had voluntarily deleted[3] their accounts.

Questionable Current Status
editI believe some of the meme fans claim YTMND shuts down FOREVER. I think it's not on maintenance. --Kurt R. (Zirukurt01)✉ 04:46, 16 May 2019 (UTC)
External links
editThe External links section includes a hidden, commented-out link to YTMND Radio as follows:
<!-- * [http://radio.ytmnd.com/ YTMND Radio] – Down as of 2006-08-01 -->
The site appears to be working as of April 2020, but only insofar as it plays a short audio loop from the film Office Space. (If it was a radio stream, it seems unlikely that the Web archive would be able to offer any useful archived copy.) I suggest removing this out of date comment. If at some point in the future a radio stream is reestablished it can be added back but there doesn't seem to be any good reason to have it hidden and with almost no accompanying explanation. -- 109.77.197.146 (talk) 13:48, 2 April 2020 (UTC)
