Overall: my only comment is that mentioning the over 5000 items (4669 on the website) might be more "hook"-y than mentioning the town it's located in! originalmessbusta rhyme 07:21, 11 October 2019 (UTC)
- Well, it's a small town in the Deep South, that's pretty cool. Gråbergs Gråa Sång (talk) 07:24, 14 October 2019 (UTC)
Looks good. Nice job! --evrik (talk) 05:52, 13 October 2019 (UTC)
- Edit conflict! This article is new enough and long enough. The image is in the public domain, the hook facts are cited inline, the article is neutral and I detected no copyright or plagiarism issues. A QPQ has not been done, but I think the creator has fewer than six DYKs so one is not needed. Cwmhiraeth (talk) 05:58, 13 October 2019 (UTC)
- This is my second DYK. Gråbergs Gråa Sång (talk) 08:13, 13 October 2019 (UTC)
- @Gråbergs Gråa Sång: if it's important that it's a small town, the hook should say so. Otherwise a reader skimming the main page just sees "Jack Hadley ... founded a museum ... in this town". There's nothing to "hook" me to read the article. Yoninah (talk) 20:26, 15 October 2019 (UTC)
- If you prefer something like
- ... that Jack Hadley (pictured) founded his own Black History Museum in Georgia, USA?
- or
- ... that Jack Hadley (pictured), a retired U.S. airman and postal worker, founded his own Black History Museum?
- I have no problem with that, but I think the original is good enough. I hope "airman" is the right term. Gråbergs Gråa Sång (talk) 07:55, 16 October 2019 (UTC)
- @Gråbergs Gråa Sång: The point of a hook is to "hook" the reader with an interesting or offbeat factoid, reeling him in to read the article. Each of your hooks tells me everything I need to know, leaving me no reason to click and read more. Numbers are always a good idea, as in evrik's suggestion. Alternately, an additional interesting factoid about the museum, aside from where it's located. BTW your article says nothing about why he decided to found the museum. More detail in the article could lead to a better hook. Yoninah (talk) 17:20, 16 October 2019 (UTC)
