The Saturn V rocket carrying the Apollo 11 mission, the first manned mission to land on the Moon, launches from Kennedy Space Center on July 16, 1969. It was the fifth human spaceflight of Project Apollo, and carried Mission Commander Neil Armstrong, Command Module Pilot Michael Collins and Lunar Module Pilot Buzz Aldrin.
