edit@BrownHairedGirl: See Category:987 books. Was this template written on the assumption that no books existed before AD 1000? :-) --R'n'B (call me Russ) 10:24, 10 May 2019 (UTC)
- Haha, R'n'B. It was all on the assumption that editors would continue the convention of avoiding by-year categs before AD 1000. --BrownHairedGirl (talk) • (contribs) 12:20, 10 May 2019 (UTC)
Fiction by year of setting
editI propose to remove links to Fiction set in YYYY subcategories from this template, and also from {{Novel year}} and {{Poem year}}. It seems to me that linking them blurs the line between two unrelated characteristics: real-world year of publication (e.g. YYYY books, YYYY novels, YYYY poems) and fictional year of setting. Any thoughts? Thanks, -- Black Falcon (talk) 14:40, 25 August 2019 (UTC)
- @BrownHairedGirl: Checking if you have any objections... If not, I will go ahead and make the change. Thanks, -- Black Falcon (talk) 16:14, 28 September 2019 (UTC)
- @Black Falcon, I think that's a very good idea. That parenting was in these templates before I started tweaking them, and I pondered it at the time, but decided to just concentrate on making them parameterless. --BrownHairedGirl (talk) • (contribs) 16:21, 28 September 2019 (UTC)
- Done - I appreciate your quick response and have made the changes: 1, 2, and 3. Cheers, -- Black Falcon (talk) 17:21, 28 September 2019 (UTC)
