Image issues
editI think Image:Hourglass.svg would be a better picture to use. --Zoz (t) 18:21, 31 August 2006 (UTC)
- Protected as it was vandalized twice today. --Ragib 23:48, 6 September 2006 (UTC)
Maybe Image:Busy desk.svg will be more appropriate picture for this ... and since these vandals were anonymous, semi-protection might be enough for this ... --Bilboq 18:15, 28 September 2006 (UTC)
- I love Image:Busy desk.svg! I was looking for something like that when I first created the template... The Singing Badger 20:05, 28 September 2006 (UTC)
- I was looking too for something, since the desk with lamp was ... not the best, but I also found nothing. So I have drawn it :)
- Well, maybe that <!---If anyone can find a better picture, please do so!---> can be removed from the template now ... also I think semiprotection instead of full protection would be enough, considering it was vandalized only twice by enon. users and it was 3 weeks ago

I liked the lamp. Why was it removed? Cnwb 03:54, 30 September 2006 (UTC)
Wording
editI'd like to change "busy in" to "preoccupied with", but understand that it may be controversial. Xiner (talk, email) 21:21, 14 February 2007 (UTC)
"small" parameter
editCan someone look at the code for {{Usertalkback}} and add the relevant bits to allow this template to turn into a smaller box on the right side of the page? It is just a bit too complex for me to do it quickly. I'm adding a request on that template's discussion page as well. ~ PaulC/T+ 16:58, 2 February 2008 (UTC)
- Done. — Edokter • Talk • 20:59, 2 February 2008 (UTC)
- Not sure what you would think about having the small=yes switch turn the template from a tmbox to a userbox: Currently, the small version doesn't quite match the layout of typical userboxes, and it seems like it would be better if it did.--Theodore Kloba (talk) 17:32, 11 October 2011 (UTC)
- FWIW, I ended up creating a separate template for a userbox version. It is at: User:Theodore Kloba/Userbox busy. Theodore Kloba (☎) 17:24, 11 August 2017 (UTC)

This user will never insult you by implying that their "real" life is comparatively too "busy" to respond to yours. If you have visited this page and leave a reasonable message, I will respond to you as efficiently as possible. Thank you. |

Request to change wording
editThe use of "real life" problematically makes it sound like that Wikipedia and other websites are inherently not real. That is not only demeaning to the internet but also highly misleading. In order to avoid perpetuating such a stereotype any further, I suggest we remove this bit ASAP. We could perhaps say "with offline obligations" or "with other things" instead. Use Template:Ombox instead of Template:Tmbox.
It looks like Tmbox does not work on mobile view, but Ombox does. Also it's more appropriate for Template:Busy, since it's usually put on user pages. WPEditor42 (talk • contribs) 18:46, 9 September 2022 (UTC)
- Not done for now: This is actually a controversial edit, so you'll need to discuss first with other editors. Please open a new section here and start a discussion. A new edit request may be opened only when there is agreement among editors for the proposed change(s).
- Changing this to Ombox would change the appearance over all its usages, and I have seen Busy used extensively on user talk pages as well as on user pages. Seems to me the problem lies with Tmbox being too unlike Ombox to work on mobile view, so that might be what needs fixin'. P.I. Ellsworth , ed. put'r there 18:57, 9 September 2022 (UTC)
