Template:Greater color contrast ratio doesn't seem to be working

edit

Thanks for fixing my template, BrandonXLF. Before your change, my test case here was breaking Lua after just a few rows. {{Greater color contrast ratio}} doesn't seem to be working there yet, though. Thanks again. — 𝐆𝐮𝐚𝐫𝐚𝐩𝐢𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐚 (talk) 22:41, 9 May 2021 (UTC)Reply

You pointed out my mistake as I wrote this. Thanks again. — 𝐆𝐮𝐚𝐫𝐚𝐩𝐢𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐚 (talk) 22:44, 9 May 2021 (UTC)Reply
Oh, wait, it's still breaking on the very first row:
Violent Crime Rates per 100000 inhabitants in 2010 - 2019
State or Territory 2019 Historical Violent Crime Rates
Incidence Count Violent Crime Rate 2018 2017 2016 2015 2014 2013 2012 2011 2010

  District of Columbia 7403 1049.0 997.1 1004.9 1203.5 1269.1 1242.6 1281.9 1241.8 1202.1 1326.8

Guarapiranga, the values are out of the range of 0 to 1000 so it's returning a negative background color which Greater color contrast ratio doesn't like BrandonXLF (talk) 22:57, 9 May 2021 (UTC)Reply
Would you test the value for min and max bounds in {{Value color}}? — 𝐆𝐮𝐚𝐫𝐚𝐩𝐢𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐚 (talk) 23:03, 9 May 2021 (UTC)Reply
There, fixed it; what do you reckon? — 𝐆𝐮𝐚𝐫𝐚𝐩𝐢𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐚 (talk) 00:51, 10 May 2021 (UTC)Reply
Also, what do you reckon is happening with Nevada?
Violent Crime Rates per 100000 inhabitants in 2010 - 2019
State or Territory 2019 Historical Violent Crime Rates
Incidence Count Violent Crime Rate 2018 2017 2016 2015 2014 2013 2012 2011 2010

  Nevada 15210 493.8 552.1 555.9 677.9 695.9 635.7 591.2 608.6 562.1 663.0
Is it a knife-edge case? — 𝐆𝐮𝐚𝐫𝐚𝐩𝐢𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐚 (talk) 23:11, 9 May 2021 (UTC)Reply
It seems like white just barely has a better contrast ratio. BrandonXLF (talk) 00:01, 10 May 2021 (UTC)Reply

Enhancement: 3 colour scales

edit

I noticed the new colours with {{ccolor}} didn't quite match the manual colours before. A possible improvement would be adding the option to specify a median colour, like in Excel and Google Sheets. — 𝐆𝐮𝐚𝐫𝐚𝐩𝐢𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐚 (talk) 00:57, 10 May 2021 (UTC)Reply

Reverted recent changes as they broke the auto text contrast
