Reason for tfd listing: This template is suggested for spliting into Template:Mainland China-geo-stub and Template:ROC-geo-stub (or Template:Republic of China-geo-stub).

The wording of this template was agreed after several months of debate on various Wikipedia pages. DO NOT CHANGE IT! Grutness|hello?   06:41, 19 Apr 2005 (UTC)

Sadly the recent round of drive [4] has never been discussed anywhere, and the outcome at WP:SFD affecting the similar China-struct-stub template and category structure was disregarded. — Instantnood 09:36, 24 February 2007 (UTC)Reply
This dosent mean the result is cast in stone, especially when discussion participants are hardly representative, and is largely pushed by a single user with heavy POV issues. I would think the entire Chinese-related hierachy of stubs probably need a review.--Huaiwei 16:55, 24 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

I just went throught eight discussion pages from January to November 2005 that linked to this page looking for where decisions were made on where to target this stub category. I don't see any consensus arising that this is supposed to be a "Mainland China" target. In fact, there is huge opposition to it. What is worse, is that the discussion takes place across so many pages with different participants at each one - except Instantnood. Eight conversations dominated by one user wasn't consensus in 2005, and that same user revert warring and getting it protected isn't consensus in 2007. I'm setting the article to the state it was at by the last user who was not involved in revert warring. SchmuckyTheCat 00:29, 28 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

The alleged consensus is possibly in reference to this SFD discussion, which seems to me far from satisfactory, but to be fair was going to be hard to call either way. At any rate, it leaves things out of whack with the perm cats, and I'm struggling to see how the two can be made in accord. I've been cogitating whether to re-list this at SFD, or at DRV. Or to wash my hands of the whole mess. Alai 01:58, 28 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

Not done: Sorry, but I'm afraid you need a consensus for this. This edit looks like it might be controversial, and administrators are only empowered to make edits to protected pages if those edits are uncontroversial or are supported by consensus. I also thought that some people might disagree with the changes you've made to the images of the other country geo-stub templates, so I've started a discussion about it at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Stub sorting#Changing flags to images on country geo-stub templates. I'd be grateful if you could comment over there. Best — Mr. Stradivarius (have a chat) 09:41, 26 November 2012 (UTC)Reply
