I suggest we update the code to add other historical flags of Tunisia:

The other two flags aren't used in icon form within Wikipedia, so there is no need (yet?) to add them to this template, expanding the pre-include size for every transclusion. — Andrwsc (talk · contribs) 18:58, 23 August 2011 (UTC)

I think we should reconsider adding the alleged French variant as I am sure it will always be used incorrectly within this template. The Tunisian flag with a French canton was only ever used by some French army units while in Tunisia and never as a flag to represent the country or the protectorate. @Spesh531: I have now reassigned the "old" variant to the 19th-century flag, since the only pages still appearing to be using it to refer to the 1959–1999 flag are user and user talk pages. SiBr₄ (talk) 19:36, 18 July 2014 (UTC)

Flag of French Tunisia

There needs to be a mention somewhere in the documentation that, as stated in Flag of Tunisia, the Flag of French Tunisia was in fact never used to represent the protectorate. It was a flag used by some military units, yet some editors, perhaps misled by this template, are using it incorrectly. I myself am not allowed to make a change on this template. I suggest that the so-called Flag of French Tunisia be removed from this template. It is periodically used erroneously to illustrate the French Protectorate of Tunisia and therefore requires constant overseeing. There is never a case where this template will use this flag appropriately. Therefore this option should be removed. Abjiklɐm (tɐlk) 01:36, 2 March 2016 (UTC)

I understand the need for consensus, but I'd like to say two things:

1. This flag was added without consensus in the first place (see previous edit request). I unfortunately arrived one day after the damage was done. No discussion occurred whatsoever and my concerns were completely ignored.
2. This flag was never used correctly ever since it's been added to the template.

With these two points in mind, I hope we will agree that this flag must be removed from the template. Abjiklɐm (tɐlk) 06:36, 2 March 2016 (UTC)
