Template talk:FIFA player
Name
editIt also count FIFA Club World Cup and youth games. Should the name be changed? Matthew_hk tc 09:40, 3 May 2008 (UTC)
- Changed. –Kooma (di algo) 10:03, 21 May 2008 (UTC)
- Can accept the argument for description change. Tournament is what I had originally, and received feedback which prompted a change to World Cup (theory being that youth tournaments were also 'world cups'. Search engine description says it finds records for all FIFA competitions so I believe it should say FIFA competition records--ClubOranjeTalk 10:23, 21 May 2008 (UTC)

The URL featured in the template has changed. See template:FIFA player/sandbox for an update ready to be copied over.
Here are two examples for Per Mertersacker:
Before the suggested change
- FIFA player – FIFA competition record (archived)
After the suggested change
- FIFA player – FIFA competition record

Template-protected edit request on 27 August 2015 - I want to replace. competiton record => Competition Stats
edit{{{name}}} – FIFA Competition Stats
- Oppose: There's a profile in those pages, not only some stats. Besides, "competition record" looks prettier than "Competition Stats". MYS77 ✉ 16:57, 27 August 2015 (UTC)

Please update http://www.fifa.com/fifa-tournaments/players-coaches/
to https://www.fifa.com/fifa-tournaments/players-coaches/
to use the secure HTTPS protocol. Thank you. Jon Kolbert (talk) 05:32, 26 January 2018 (UTC)
This link is now dead, and a fellow user has redirected me to several "manual" options for the time being, at least link is now working. Funny thing is players much older than this one (see for example here FIFA player – FIFA competition record (archived)) do have their links from the FIFA website "alive and kicking".
Any way to get around this, template-wise? Attentively, thanks in advance --Quite A Character (talk) 17:54, 3 December 2018 (UTC)
- Two other in need of archiving, Ariel Ibagaza and Cristian Díaz (footballer, born 1976). Attentively --Quite A Character (talk) 19:35, 4 December 2018 (UTC)

The URL scheme https://static.fifa.com/fifa-tournaments/players-coaches/people=[ID_NUMBER]/index.html
seems to work for profiles, could this be updated? For example, this link has much more information than what would currently display using the template, this link. Thanks, S.A. Julio (talk) 22:04, 17 February 2019 (UTC)
