I've put this template on the 3 existing African articles, Worldwide green parties#List of Green Parties (2005-11-28t21:21z), some watched English language country articles (2005-11-29t19:31z); and the other active links (2005-12-13t17:39z). — Jeandré

Over the top?

edit

I think this table is a bit too much. We already have Template:Greens which is more than enough for most Green party articles (which are often quite short, for the moment). – Kaihsu 21:08, 2 January 2006 (UTC)Reply

Nordic Green Left parties

edit

In Scandinavia there is a particular strand of parties which call themselves Nordic Green Left. This includes Left Alliance (Finland) Left-Green Movement (Iceland) Left Party (Sweden) Socialist Left Party (Norway) and Socialist People's Party (Denmark). They are clearly environmentalist. Should they be included or not?

I'm against inclusion because for now they have not joined the European Green Party or the Global Greens while they could have, instead the Nordic Green Left has set up its own alliance and has chosen to work together with the post-communist United European Left in the European parliament . I hope that you at least will accept an inclusion of The Socialist People's Party. We are a part of the Greens-EFA Group in the European Parliament and we have recieved an observer status in both the European Green Party and the Global Greens. And after all, the danish greens have no power in Denmark, because we are the true green party of Denmark. I think that the Socialist Left Party of Norway and Left-Green Movement of Iceland could also be included, but they haven't becomed obervers in neither EGP nor GG so I will accept if you don't want them to be included. As you may have noticed I included it already. C mon 23:10, 3 December 2006 (UTC)Reply

If the Socialist People's Party should be included, so should the Red-Green Alliance. If no one objects within a few days, I will include them. --Bagande 01:10, 9 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

I suppose you mean the Red-Green Alliance (Denmark) (ø). I firmly disagree because:
  1. ø does not associate it self with European or international Green organizations but is a member of the European Anticapitalist Left, unlike the SF, whose MEP is member of the EGP/EFA group and who are an observer at the EGP
  2. ø does not even affiliate with the Nordic Green Left which is the original question raised.
  3. ø is an alliance of far-left (communist and socialist) parties.
All in all, I think the case for including ø is too tenuous. C mon 07:06, 9 May 2007 (UTC)Reply
