Content
editIt may be useful to have a template for classes of medications. Some ideas of content it could content
- Consumer reports have good overviews of drug classes as seen here for beta blockers [1]
- The ATC code
- The MESH ID code for beta blockers is D000319
- Medicinenet.com or rxlist.com by WebMD may also be useful [2][3]
- A list of generics within the class. drugs.com provides this info http://www.drugs.com/drug-class/cardioselective-beta-blockers.html

- Version 1.0 Done (see testcases). Boghog (talk) 10:40, 4 June 2011 (UTC)
- Is there a way we can set it such that if no info is available it leaves the spot blank? Have started at Selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor Doc James (talk · contribs · email) 10:56, 4 June 2011 (UTC)
- The template has been edited so that if a parameter is missing, the left hand column containing the internal Wiki link will still be displayed, but the external link will be blank (see for example Template:Infobox drug class/doc). Boghog (talk) 14:20, 4 June 2011 (UTC)
- Yes but if the data does not exist for all headings it would look better if it where hidden IMO.--Doc James (talk · contribs · email) 08:23, 25 November 2011 (UTC)

Addition and some questions
edit- I added a "Use" field. Suggestions for a better title are welcome.
- I'd put the "Biological target" on top, maybe after the "Use".
- Shouldn't empty lines be hidden? That's standard for infoboxes as far as I know.
- Why is the Drugs.com entry named "list of generics"? And the title "best-buy-drugs" for Comsumer Reports sounds a bit like an online pharmacy for people who don't know the background.
Consumer reports
editI am having trouble getting this one to work. Agree that "best-buy-drugs" is not the best title. --Doc James (talk · contribs · email) 08:42, 25 November 2011 (UTC)
- Anyone able to fix this? Or should I give it a try?--Doc James (talk · contribs · email) 15:55, 28 December 2011 (UTC)
Am trying to use these boxes for vitamins. Can we add this link under drugs.com? --Doc James (talk · contribs · email) 15:55, 28 December 2011 (UTC)
Changes
editFixed article name showing up. I have removed the background color into purple. It was defined as "navbox-style" (class), but that is not appropriate in this infobox. I understand the color has no meaning, and may be changed. Headers now are with bg color grey. Also added the Wikidata link, if there is one. -DePiep (talk) 08:23, 8 December 2016 (UTC)
class= parameter for dark mode purposes
editI made a tiny addition to Template:Infobox drug class/sandbox here (Special:Diff/1246109348) that allows me to add the skin-invert-image
filter for dark line drawings (per [4]). I'm not familiar with Template editing and wanted to double-check that this is a sane way to go about adding this filter. I copied the Vitamin E infobox drug class to my sandbox to test the addition, and it looks fine to me. ― Synpath 23:24, 16 September 2024 (UTC)
