Edit request: De-talicize the template's title
edit@Grapesoda22, Funandtrvl, Zyxw, and Frietjes: (Relatively) recent editors: Greetings and felicitations. As of this edit the title of the template is italicized, whereas that of Template:Infobox television is not (which seems to prove that this is not a necessary thing). I'm afraid I'm not knowledgable enough in the applicable markup/code to fix this. Would someone please be so kind as to do so? —DocWatson42 (talk) 09:23, 24 August 2020 (UTC)
- Hi, it is supposed to show in italics, the other templates had italics set to "no" on their /doc pages. Funandtrvl (talk) 14:07, 24 August 2020 (UTC)
- Of course, there is a dispute going on about this very subject. Funandtrvl (talk) 14:47, 24 August 2020 (UTC)
- Templates should not be placed in italics. See MOS:ITALICS what titles are. There is a reason why those templates use the no setting on the template page. --Gonnym (talk) 14:55, 24 August 2020 (UTC)
- Okay, I've set the /doc page to no italic title. Funandtrvl (talk) 15:10, 24 August 2020 (UTC)

Requesting New Field: Former Names
editIs "other_names" the place for prior names of the show? The description: "Other names that the show is called." is vague and feels like an afterthought.
How about a "proper" field, say: prior_names?
"syndicates" vs. "networks"
editIn an edit on The Saint (radio program), someone changed "syndicates" in the infobox to "networks" with the accompanying edit summary "NBC, CBS, and Mutual were networks, not syndicates."
As I see it, the statement in the summary is correct. The problem is that the edit prevented the networks' names from appearing in the infobox. As I read Template:Infobox radio show, "networks" is not a valid parameter; "syndicates" seems to be the best-available parameter for listing networks. I reverted the change and posted an explanation on Talk:The Saint (radio program).
Does the infobox's structure assume that syndicates and networks are the same? If so, perhaps that could be added to the documentation. If not, could a "networks" parameter be added? Eddie Blick (talk) 03:22, 30 December 2023 (UTC)
