Ryuei Ryu style is not on here. Should it be added? Jorobeq 18:49, 9 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

Considering they have other okinawan styles, yes, I'm adding it. --Cubbi 20:23, 9 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

Size

edit

This template is starting to become a bit large. Perhaps we should split it into groups (either by date, size, origin, etc)? RogueNinjatalk 20:23, 13 January 2008 (UTC)Reply

I think splitting by origin (Okinawa or Japan) is probably easiest and least controversial. Alternatively, grouping by lineage/date would be interesting, though probably difficult to do. Organizing by date alone might imply a lineage where one does not exist. --Scott Alter 03:42, 14 January 2008 (UTC)Reply

Too many styles

edit

I'm really beginning to wonder if the list of styles should be cut down. There's so many listed as to make the template unwieldy. And some of them are really not notable. Even the linked to articles rely entirely on primary sources, and really shouldn't even exist (as they show nothing to meet WP:V or WP:N). That said, I don't think I'm qualified to cut it down on my own. I'd likely cut it down to eight major styles: Goju-ryu, Isshin-ryu, Kyokushin, Shito-ryu, Shorin-ryu, Shotokan, Uechi-ryu, and Wado-ryu. At the least, I'd remove any one whose articles are tagged for needing additional independent sourcing. Thoughts? oknazevad (talk) 04:48, 20 August 2014 (UTC)Reply
