Removing the redundant new line

edit

The template at present includes a redundant new line due to the break between "</includeonly>" and "<noinclude>". This new line splits up the subpage boxes when they are called individually (see, for instance, Portal:Law/Selected articles). I don't think that this new line should be included in the template. If there is a need to separate the subpage boxes, this can be done by adding a new line between the templates; there is no easy way to remove the line breaks if they are included in a template.

As the template is widely used I though it best to propose the change first, although it should not practically affect many pages as the formatting resulting from {{Numbered subpages}} and its variants should not alter.

The proposed template is as follows:

 <includeonly>{{#if:{{{1|}}}|
 {{../box-header|{{SUBPAGENAME}} {{{1}}} | {{FULLPAGENAME}}/{{{1}}} }}
 [[ {{FULLPAGENAME}}/{{{1}}} ]]
 {{ {{FULLPAGENAME}}/{{{1}}} }}
 {{../box-footer|}} |}}
 </includeonly><noinclude>
 {{documentation}}
 </noinclude>

I would welcome comments. Michael Anon 17:12, 28 September 2012 (UTC)Reply

Template:SubpageTemplate:Portal subpage – This name is way too generic for a template specific to portals. {{3x|p}}ery (talk) 18:27, 28 June 2018 (UTC)--Relisting. Dekimasuよ! 15:52, 6 July 2018 (UTC)Reply
