editCould somebody change the link to the code MS from Province of Massa-Carrara to Province of Massa and Carrara? It's the official name until 2009. --Dэя-Бøяg 09:13, 29 November 2010 (UTC)

South Tyrol

as per WP:COMMONNAME and WP:UE Province of Bolzano-Bozen was moved to South Tyrol. As with Aosta Valley the name of the province in this template needs to changed to: BZ=South Tyrol. please also note: there is a move request regarding the Province of Trento to move it to its WP:COMMONNAME and historical name Trentino. thanks, noclador (talk) 17:00, 20 April 2011 (UTC)

- thanks, Martin, but please remove the "the" before South Tyrol; it is simply "Comuni of South Tyrol". thank you; noclador (talk) 07:33, 21 April 2011 (UTC)
- There is no "the" in the template. I made exactly the edit you requested, i.e. BZ=[[South Tyrol]]. Maybe there is a different template causing this? — Martin (MSGJ · talk) 07:36, 21 April 2011 (UTC)
- I don't know... It is the first time I am involved with templates. Currently the template states: "Trentino-Alto Adige/Südtirol · Comuni of the South Tyrol" (i.e. here at the bottom of the article: Ahrntal) when it should either state: "Trentino-Alto Adige/Südtirol · Comuni of South Tyrol" or "Trentino-Alto Adige/Südtirol · Comuni in South Tyrol" or "Trentino-Alto Adige/Südtirol · Comuni of the province of South Tyrol". I assumed that this is the right template. hmm,... for the Aosta Valley the template is correct i.e. La Thuile, Aosta Valley. Where else could the "the" come from? what other templates are connected to this one??? noclador (talk) 07:46, 21 April 2011 (UTC)
- That's Template:South Tyrol. As it's unprotected you can make this change yourself. Regards — Martin (MSGJ · talk) 09:40, 21 April 2011 (UTC)
- I just went there, and tried to make this change myself; however in the template there there is only "| province_code=BZ" where the Comuno of the should be... noclador (talk) 09:45, 21 April 2011 (UTC)

I think I found the template, where we can exclude the "the": Template:Navbox Province of Italy/title. It seems that the first line defines the output for Aosta Valley, using the province code "AO". I'm not sure how we can include South Tyrol, too. Maybe by adding "|BZ|" after "|AO|". Or could we simply reduplicate the first line and exchange "AO" with "BZ"? --Mai-Sachme (talk) 14:51, 21 April 2011 (UTC)
- I've made some changes and template is now displaying as you request. I'm not sure if I've done it right, or if I might have broken something else. (Don't really understand how all these templates work.) So please let me know if anything else needs doing. — Martin (MSGJ · talk) 16:11, 21 April 2011 (UTC)
- I just looked at the result and to make sure all is well I also looked at Padua and the template there is fine; and as the template for South Tyrol is now fine too - therefore in my view; we made it :-) thank you very much Martin for your help :-) noclador (talk) 16:15, 21 April 2011 (UTC)

Trentino

The article Province of Trento has been moved to Trentino. Therefore the same modification as with South Tyrol is now required; namely to change the template to TN=Trentino and also to make sure that the template as with South Tyrol omits the "the" in front of Trentino. The result should be: "Comuni of Trentino". thanks,

Transition to Metropolitan Cities
editThis edit request has been answered. Set the |answered= or |ans= parameter to no to reactivate your request. |
In 2015, Italy converted the provinces of its biggest cities into metropolitan cities. Those former provinces no longer exist. For example, the Province of Rome became the Metropolitan City of Rome Capital. As such, this template should be updated. I think this should not be a controversial edit at all. It is as follows:
|RM=[[Metropolitan City of Rome Capital]]
This would also require removing the old provinces. The full proposal is in this template's sandbox. Ergo Sum 01:16, 18 January 2018 (UTC)
|MI=[[Metropolitan City of Milan]]
|NA=[[Metropolitan City of Naples]]
|TO=[[Metropolitan City of Turin]]
|PA=[[Metropolitan City of Palermo]]
|BA=[[Metropolitan City of Bari]]
|CT=[[Metropolitan City of Catania]]
|FI=[[Metropolitan City of Florence]]
|BO=[[Metropolitan City of Bologna]]
|GE=[[Metropolitan City of Genoa]]
|VE=[[Metropolitan City of Venice]]
|ME=[[Metropolitan City of Messina]]
|RC=[[Metropolitan City of Reggio Calabria]]
|CA=[[Metropolitan City of Cagliari]]
