Indeed on the 20th May for reasons that are unclear, and per WP:BRD I opened a discussion on the issue the following day here (the most appropriate venue,since it is page the change would affect}. There was plenty of time to discuss any substantive issue before the thread was archived on 6 June (or indeed up to today). By then one of the commentators had protected the template claiming that it is highly used (it is not). I requested unprotection, which was denied with the reason "ask the protecting admin first" (incidentally by another of those in the discussion). The protecting admin was asked, and declined without explanation.

The protection has since been reduced to "Template editor" which is a good thing. But the improvement in the display of the "Status" field is still needed per consensus.

nowrap causes overflow into sidebar

When using the 'standard width' option of the appearance menu and there being a long username (such as in the current revision) the nowrap causes the table to overflow into the sidebar. @Mz7: since it is your bot that maintains the case list, do you mind if I remove the nowrap?
