Name ?
editIs {{Shinto2}} really a helpful choice of name for a sidebar template (vertically-aligned navigation (navbox)) ? I see {{Shinto}} is used to populate Shinto-related talk page headers yet as main focus of our work should be the article rather than the talk-page spaces, perhaps a rename is warranted ?
As {{Shinto2}} used by 9 pages, whilst {{Shinto}} used by over 300 pages, clearly use of article sidebar of {{Shinto}} with talk page of say {{Shinto header}} is not going to be convenient.
Therefore per what seems quite common usage of the metatemplate {{Religion}}[1] to use "-ism" form, perhaps this sidebar should be renamed to {{Shintoism}} ? David Ruben Talk 01:20, 30 March 2009 (UTC)
- As the project talk page template has been deleted, the template has been moved to {{Shinto}}. ···日本穣? · Talk to Nihonjoe 18:09, 10 April 2009 (UTC)
Misogi
editWas bold, changed the link from Ritual_purification to Misogi, as its more relevant then the two lines in the prior page. NeilHynes (Talk) 14:39, 15 January 2010 (UTC)
Merger proposal
editI propose we merge the Template:Japanese mythology sidebar to either here or the Japanese mythology and folklore template. They overlap quite a lot and we could slim down the number of sidebars. Bluealbion (talk) 17:14, 22 August 2021 (UTC)
- I think we can stop using that sidebar, which lacks rituals. I prefer this vertical Template:Shinto to the horizontal template ja:Template:神道 横 to be placed at the bottom of long articles. I have made some changes to the current template. Shinkansen Fan (talk) 22:34, 17 September 2021 (UTC)
