Models R310s and R290

edit

I've added the Ericsson models R310s and R290, with several justifications even though they're not SonyEricsson branded. Thought I'd mention those reasons here, to hopefully prevent the models from being deleted: first, they're still supported on the SonyEricsson site, but more importantly, they survived into the SonyEricsson era because there was no new version of them. They're fairly important phones too; the R310s being the ruggedised ("waterproof") one, and the R290 being the Globalstar satellite phone (as well as having GSM capability.) – Kieran T (talk | contribs) 12:09, 9 June 2006 (UTC)Reply

Sony mobile products

edit

The name of the template is incorrect as I came to this template from an Ericsson phone that predates the Sony-Ericsson deal, and I've learned from renaming Nokia Mobile Phones to Nokia and Microsoft Mobile phones that it gets reverted back to the original (as moderators kept naming it back to solely "Nokia"), so I suggest to splitting the Ericsson devices that predate the Sony joint venture to not cause confusion as Sony had no involvement in the development of the Ericsson R380 or even most phones from that generation. --86.81.201.94 (talk) 22:55, 28 December 2014 (UTC)Reply

I did a rename of the navbox title, though there should be a template that lists only Ericsson-branded devices. -Mardus /talk 05:29, 5 June 2020 (UTC)Reply

W950i and W960 marked as "Feature phones" but they are not. Also for Aspen and M600. Please move it below. Ford153focus (talk) 12:46, 18 April 2018 (UTC)Reply

File:Red question icon with gradient background. Not done: it's not clear what changes you want to be made. Please mention the specific changes in a "change X to Y" format and provide a reliable source if appropriate. L293D ( • ) 12:55, 18 April 2018 (UTC)Reply
W-series and G-series should be split in 2 distinct categories the same way as U-series. Everything running Symbian (G700/ G900/ M600/ W950/ W960) or Windows Mobile (M1i) is a smartphone, not a feature phone.

The proposed change is from:

Feature phones G G502 * G700 * G705 * G900
Feature phones M Aspen (M1i) * M600
Feature phones W W950 * W960 * Everything else on W-series

to:

Feature phones G (non-Symbian) G502 * G705
Feature phones W (non-Symbian) Everything else on W-series
Smartphones G (Symbian) G700 * G900
Smartphones M Aspen (M1i) * M600
Smartphones W (Symbian) W950 * W960

This is not an opinion. This is a fact. Wikipedia accepted that Sony Ericsson W950 is a smartphone with consensus since very first article version: https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Sony_Ericsson_W950&oldid=39552861 (Sony Ericsson W950 is a Symbian based smartphone). Nobody ever denied in the last 14 years since that page was created. That text is still present in the current version: https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Sony_Ericsson_W950&oldid=929007208 .
Another source: https://www.gsmarena.com/sony_ericsson_w950-review-111.php : (The Sony Ericsson W950 is an exciting new addition to the Walkman series of Sony Ericsson. It is a smartphone based on the Symbian 9.1 UIQ 3.0)
Same for Sony Ericsson M600: https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Sony_Ericsson_M600&oldid=38449613 (The Sony Ericsson M600 is a Symbian based smartphone ); https://www.cnet.com/reviews/sony-ericsson-m600i-review/ ( Sony Ericsson's M600i is a unique-looking Symbian-based smartphone)
