Template talk:TWL Header
To do
edit- Should "You do not have free online access to these products through your local library or university" be a standard part of all signup page requirements? Seems to only be present on some. Sam Walton (talk) 13:57, 25 July 2016 (UTC)
Suggested change to requirement #1
editI think we need to update the language of the first listed requirement subsequent to our shift to The Wikipedia Library Card platform. Currently it looks like this:
You have your preferences enabled to receive email messages on English Wikipedia or on your home wiki linked from your application; (see Special:Preferences)
Perhaps we could modify it to this:
- You have your preferences enabled to receive email messages on your home wiki (e.g. English Wikipedia; see Special:Preferences) or you have linked an email to your TWL Library Card application.
I've also learned that in order to sign up for a TWL Library Card, an email address is required. In other words all applicants now have an email associated with their applications, and this makes this requirement somewhat redundant. So another option (which may be better) is to simply delete this requirement and rely on the TWL Library Card sign-up process to mandate email address collection. Any thoughts? -Thibbs (talk) 04:05, 27 November 2017 (UTC)
- @Thibbs: That's a great point. I agree that I think we can just go ahead and remove this wording. Samwalton9 (WMF) (talk) 11:20, 27 November 2017 (UTC)
Sample citations
edit@Samwalton9 (WMF): The suggested citation information (such as on Wikipedia:Newspapers.com) appears to be completely gone. It's not here any more, and it's not (so far as I can see) on the Library Card platform. Wikipedia seems like a more natural location for that information regardless. - @Mackensen: Great point - I overlooked that when trimming the template down. I've reinstated the example citation information. Samwalton9 (WMF) (talk) 10:49, 17 September 2018 (UTC)
