There's something going wrong with the interwiki link to es: at Category:User en-2, but I can't figure out what it is. I thought the problem was with this template, but editing the template didn't help, so I reverted my changes back. --Angr/_{tɔk tə mi} 21:30, 10 October 2005 (UTC)

The recent problems with User en-4 (and en-3, en-2, etc.) were due to the deletion of the User sco templates earlier this month. These templates localized the English numbering system used here to the format preferred by Wikipedia Scots. For more info, see the relevant item in the Templates for Deletions log. Since these templates were removed, I've removed the localization links to the User sco templates from this (the User language subcategory) template. This fixes the problem with the en-4 (and below) pages. However, as mentioned in the deletion log, this also means that subcategories for native language speakers (e.g., Category:User en-N) will have an incorrect interwiki link to sco:Category:User en-N, instead of the correctly localized sco:Category:User en-M. I'm not sure of the proper solution to this. As for the en-5 page, it might be a similar issue (though more severe, since the language level 5 doesn't seem to be as used on other Wikipedias.) — Jeff | (talk) | 00:36, 1 December 2005 (UTC)

Help!

Sooooo confusing. What should go in the field "language name"? The name in English or the native name? Please provide an example at least! Why does it add all this mess under a "see also" section? I am trying to make Template:User ng-0 (in response to a query on the Help Desk). pfctdayelise 15:15, 30 December 2005 (UTC)

(Even though this section is six years old, a short response may be useful for anyone reading this talk page.) It should be the name in English, corresponding to the title of the main article on en.wikipedia. So, for Russian, |language-name=Russian language would be the correct form. Native speaker cats

Since this is being used for more than just spoken language (such as musical instruments, and programming languages), there should be a way to not display the "native" category, since by previous consensus, they should only exist for languages. See also the March 15 WP:UCFD, for example. - jc37 23:51, 2 April 2007 (UTC)

Fixed error leading to an infinite number of subcategories

I changed [[Category:User {{{language-code}}}-{{{level}}}|{{PAGENAME}}]] to [[Category:User {{{language-code}}}| {{{level}}}]] in order to fix the error of infinite numbers of subcategories. Taric25 13:01, 2 October 2007 (UTC)
