Simply, the template

edit

What about if {{WikiLove}}, without parameters, would generate:

{{<includeonly>safesubst:</includeonly>WikiLove
|item = a fresh pie
|plural = pies
|image = A_very_beautiful_Nectarine_Pie.jpg
|background_color = #f8ebff
|border_color = #d69df2
|message = {{{1|Bon appétit!}}}
}}

to produce:

9t5 has given you a fresh pie! Pies promote WikiLove and hopefully this one has made your day better. Spread the WikiLove by giving someone else a fresh pie, whether it be someone you have had disagreements with in the past or a good friend. Bon appétit!

The way this template is coded, it apparently changes the name of the "sender" whenever someone new edits the page. Like, when I save this edit, it will change the above example to say that I gave someone a pie. (I just found this out by editing BoldLuis' talk page and it did there) So... this doesn't work right. I'm not a coding expert, but my guess would be that {{REVISIONUSER}} is not being properly employed here. Beeblebrox (talk) 02:44, 18 November 2022 (UTC)Reply
Yeah what’s going on with this???? Nobody seems to have corrected the issues with {{REVISIONUSER}} and the fact that it now substitutes the username of the most recent user to edit the page. It’s been like this for a long time. 4theloveofallthings (talk) 04:42, 4 September 2023 (UTC)Reply

Improper substitution for REVISIONUSER

edit

The code on this template has been messed up for a long time, leading the template to switch the username of the user who awarded the WikiLove to the last user to edit the associated page.

Improper substitution of the {{REVISIONUSER}} magic word was to blame.

I have corrected that error.

Well. I guess that’s what I get for being cocky. I absolutely did not fix it and so have reverted my edit — I apologize to anyone whose template was briefly disrupted by my bonehead revision. 4theloveofallthings (talk) 05:28, 4 September 2023 (UTC)Reply
