Merge

edit

There has been discussion at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Vancouver#Merge Template:vancouverproject and Template:Vancouverproject-gvrd about merging these two templates. The gvrd version of the tag has been updated to include a "city" field.--Bookandcoffee 21:21, 20 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

Revisions

edit

I've revised the template slightly, to achieve two goals. The first was to create coding to reflect the two North Vancouvers - you can now use NVanC for the City, NVanD for the District, and NVan (the original code) for both municipalities. The second goal was to reduce the bulk of the template, as it was quite large. To that end, I've edited the text slightly to cut out a few words, and combined the Vancouver flag graphic with the portal template to cut out one graphic. Thoughts? --Ckatzchatspy 05:37, 13 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

VP Showcase

edit

I think it's better to have things like this in the WikiProject banner. The less talk page banner we have, the better. -- Selmo (talk) 00:59, 24 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

I fail to see the point of merging the VP Showcase template the Vancouver Assessment template. One is used to nominate showcased articles for the Portal, the other is used by the WikiProject Vancouver to assess articles. Mkdwtalk 05:33, 24 November 2006 (UTC)Reply
A good example of what I have in mind is {{TrainsWikiProject}}. A this article appeared on the trains portal for the week of X. I think this is a good way to go because it reduces the amount of banners, meaning less space is used a the top of talk pages (which is good for editors with small screens). -- Selmo (talk) 20:06, 25 November 2006 (UTC)Reply
That serves an informational purpose after the fact to record the history of the article. "the date when a fact from the associated article appeared in the "Did you know" section of Portal:Trains. the week number and year when the article appeared in the "Showcase" section. the week number and year when the image appeared in the "Showcase" section." However, it still can't be used to nominate articles for the Showcase. Only list them afterwards. You won't have to worry about having too many banners because the VP Showcase template will be replaced with the 'week of X' (assuming) after being approved as a Showcase photo or article. Also, Vancouver is really the only article that has more than two tags at the top of the article. But, like I said, its up to you. Mkdwtalk 23:01, 26 November 2006 (UTC)Reply
Well, both ways work, let's let other way in before we do anyhing else. -- Selmo (talk) 03:47, 27 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

It seems that the This article is primarily related to the city of.... part appears outside of the banner when used. This looks funky/buggy. Can it be place within the borders of the banner please? heqs ·:. 06:59, 24 June 2007 (UTC)Reply
