Template talk:X mark

Created this template to insert a X mark picture ( ) (also known as, cross mark, ballot X, etc) as a inline character, by using a short template tag ( {{X mark}} ) instead of this big IMAGE tag ( [[Image:Black x.svg|18px]] ), which is harder to remember also. Main intention is to use this, when a real picture is needed or preferable. Though using a simple (capital) "X" letter is best, faster & common alternative. Many web browser software are still unable to display the unicode (heavy Ballot X - cross) character ✘ by using the hex html code (✘). ~ Tarikash.

What are the accessibility implications of using this? How does this affect users of screen reader programs?
Before using please consider carefully if using Yes/No might be a clearer option, or otherwise expressing the same information as prose.
This template lacks guidance on when best to use or not use it, I hope it can be improved and that people aren't using it when maybe they should not. -- 93.107.157.52 (talk) 23:13, 29 September 2016 (UTC)Reply
