Imagine a world in which every single person on the planet is given free access to the sum of all human knowledge. That's what we're doing.

Background Bio

edit

My real name is Alex, or Alexander. I'm twenty years old and a resident of Logan Township, New Jersey. I'm a graduate of the Kingsway Regional School District and currently attending Gloucester County College. I work full time as a professional auto mechanic and will be an ASE-certfied automotive technician pending completion of the two-year work experience requirement, having already passed several certification tests.

My primary areas of interest are computers, politics and government, law, history, and automotive/transportation. These interests are not often reflected in my contributions, as I am often heavily involved in site maintenance and article polishing.

Work on Wikipedia

edit

I've been away from active participation in Wikipedia for quite a while although I never stopped using it as a resource. Recently I've again become interested in helping out a lot more, and plan to contribute much more in my spare time. I focus a lot on tracking down, reverting, and preventing vandalism, but I also try to make many proactive contributions, such as creating new pages, overhauling and wikifying current ones, adding images, and generally providing a smoother user experience.

Trying to stay on top of vandalism is like trying to push a boulder up a hill.

Projects, Teams, Collaborations

edit

I use VandalFighter to actively patrol the most recent edits to Wikipedia. I also use Twinkle and Friendly to get stuff done fast.

Some additional tools and links I use to contribute are listed on my Toolbox page.

To see my to-do list, what I'm working on, or a collection of things that I have somehow made my problem, see my Notebook.

Contribution Licensing

edit

All of my contributions to Wikipedia and/or other Wikimedia projects such as Commons, to which I may hold or may have held the copyright are licensed under the standard Wikipedia copyright terms and licenses. In addition, they are hereby released into the public domain. This includes but is not limited to all text, audio, video, and image contributions, as well as the notes, descriptions, formatting, and any other incidental data connected to such items. There is some debate over whether this is legally possible; if not, then I hereby release all rights to such contributions. This means that absolutely anyone is free to take any of my work on Wikipedia and/or other Wikimedia projects, modify and/or redistribute it, without or for profit, with or without attribution, for any reason, under any more or less restrictive licenses or terms.

I believe in Wikipedia's dedication to the mission of completely free information, and I believe that releasing all claims to my work will allow Wikipedia (as well as others) to make the best use of my contributions. In accordance with how I license my contributions, Wikipedia and its parent/daughter/sister projects and organizations are of course free to accept, hold, and re-distribute my contributions under its current standard licenses (currently Creative Commons BY-SA 3.0, and GFDL).

Multi-licensed into the public domain
I agree to multi-license my eligible text contributions, unless otherwise stated, under Wikipedia's copyright terms and into the public domain. Please be aware that other contributors might not do the same, so if you want to use my contributions in the public domain, please check the multi-licensing guide.

Contact

edit

You should feel free to contact me about anything at any time. The best way to get in contact with me about issues on Wikipedia is to simply leave a message on my Talk page. In addition I am always on AIM, 24 hours a day (of course I'm not always at the computer). My screen name is ArmadniGeneral. I can also be e-mailed by clicking here.
