Fry's Spares opened in 1976 by John Charles Fry primarily selling Volkswagon parts to Sydney mechanics out of a Dyna Truck. In 1977 it opened its first premises in Crows Nest, Sydney [1]. In 1992 it started importing and selling Commercial automotive products to Australia[2].
Sponcership
editJohn Fry's passion for car racing had the company sponsoring Damien Beck's car of Gladesville prestige auto in the formula V racing in the late 1970's and 1980s. In the 2000's horse race sponcership commenced in Ararat with the Fry's Spares Maiden Plate which was won by Erin's Chival in 2007 [3]. [4].
