Jewell Jeannette Glass (born December 24, 1888) was an American mineralogist. Her most notable research focused on the minerals beryllium, bastnaesite, and pyroxmangite. She was a Fellow of the Mineralogical Society of America and the Geological Society of America.

Early Life and Education

Glass was born in Daieville, Mississippi, on December 24, 1888, to Levi Lafayette Glass and Julia Ann Vance Glass. In 1918, during the first World War, she moved to Washington D.C. and began working in a War Department Civil Service Position. After the war's end, she took a position at the Department of Agriculture. Glass remained in D.C. for the next several years, and earned her Baccalaureate and Master's degrees from George Washington University in 1926 and 1929. After earning her Master's, she
