Tropical Storm Ann

On April 19, the first tropical depression of the year formed in Micronesia.[1] Soon afterward, the depression strengthened into a tropical storm and was named Ann. Ann was the first tropical system named in the west pacific ever.[2] Ann steadily strengthened and reached it's peak strength of 50 mph (80 km/h) on April 21 while still in Micronesia.[1] Ann held peak intensity for 18 hours and weakened by that afternoon.[1] After steadily weakening for the next two days, Ann weakened into a tropical depression as it began to begin re-curvature on the 23rd Tropical Depression Ann slowly weakened as it finally became extratropical on April 26 while northeast of Guam.[1] Ann has caused no reports of damage or deaths to date.
