Ajay Chopra is is an Indian Chef who is known for changing the perspective of cooking with Master Chef India. He is also famous worldwide for representing the Indian palette and culture to the outside world.
Besides this, he is also well recognized for founding Oman’s first Progressive Indian Cuisine Restaurant Jashn. He is a food creator, a media personality, a restaurant consultant, and a global chef with a desi heart.
Career:
editAjay Chopra was born on February 8th, 1977, and went to the Indian Institute of Hotel Management(IHM) in 1995. After attending IHM he started his career at Cecil, Oberoi Shimla, in the year 2000 he joined Oberoi Centre For Learning And Development (OCLD) in the finest Culinary and Management trainee program and came out as a gold medalist.
After completion of his training at OCLD, he started working as a chef in a restaurant located at Oberoi, New Delhi named Kandhar. Later he joined as The Chef De Cuisine, at J.W. Marriot, Mumbai. HE then got a job At Mint Leaf Chain Of Restaurants, London As The Executive Head Chef Where He Was Voted As One Of The Best Eight Indian Chefs Of London.
He worked for globally recognized chains such as Marriott and Starwood. He hosted the TV show Master Chef India season 1 and 2 where he changed the perspective of cooking. He judged the show Master Chef along with other celebrity chefs like Vikas Khana and Kunal Kapoor. Other TV shows such as Hi-Tea (Food Food), Chop Chop Chopra, Northern Flavours (Living Foodz), Veggistan (NDTV), India’s 50 Best Dishes (Zee Zest), Mix Masala(Travelxp), Papad Pickle aur Pyala are also hosted by him.
Ajay Chopra is also an entrepreneur and he introduced Burgundy box, a revolutionary do-it-yourself meal kit. Currently, he is working as a consultant for restaurant development and he is a judge at zee cafe show "Chef vs refrigerator".Besides this, he also has his food channel “The Big Daddy Chef”.
