Phub Namgay
Mr.Phub Namgay is from Wangdue Phodrang, Bhutan. He is the first Bhutanese to receive the SAARC-India Silver Jubilee Scholarship, a grant that allows students from the South Asian region to study at South Asian University, New Delhi, India. He also stood second (IT category) in the Bhutan Civil Service Examination (BCSE), 2013. Before joining Royal Thimphu College, he interned for 6 months at Rigsum Institute of Information Technology, Thimphu.
Education
editHe is currently pursuing PhD at Uppsala University, Sweden. He obtained his Master's degree in Computer Applications from South Asian University, New Delhi, India and a Bachelor in Science (Computer Science) from Sherubtse College, Royal University of Bhutan. He completed his Post Graduate Diploma in Higher Education (PgDHE) and Post Graduate Certificate in Higher Education(PgCHE) from Samtse College of Education under the Royal University of Bhutan. He did his Master’s thesis in text mining on the topic, “Key concept based evaluation of textbooks using the grammatical linguistic pattern”. His teaching interest includes programming, database management, and data mining. His primary area of interest are data analytics, data mining, and FAIR data principles.

Currently, I am working as an Associate Lecturer in the Faculty of Mathematical Sciences at Sherubtse College. I teach computer-related subjects such as Computer programming, Operating Systems, Algorithm Analysis and Design, and Data Analytics.

I worked as an Associate Lecturer in the Department of IT and Mathematics at Royal Thimphu College for 3 years (February 2013- December 2016) before joining Sherubtse College. I taught computer-related subjects such as Computer programming, Software Project Management, Database management, Algorithm Analysis and Design, and Data Mining. I also taught the basic Information Technology skills (APC 101) module to the other department students.
